2005 BMW M5 v-10, 550 hp!!!
Well, the BMW M5 Concept has finally came to Geneva Auto Show! I am very psyched, my dad has the 1st allocation spot in the midwest to get this V-10 beast. He is going to trade in his 745i when the M comes in next spring. I thought I would share this article with everyone, this is going to be the baddest *** sedan on the planet. The only thing that is not production is that there is going to be a lip spoiler on the trunk of the car, and it will have atleast 10.5" rear wheels, instead of the smallish 9.5" rears on the concept. 7-speed gearbox, and 1/4-mile in 13.0 seconds!
Here is the article, also with 6-picutures

I test drove the previous version with a saleman that was very open to letting me see what the car could do. One sweet ride. Almost got one, but ultimatly decided against it. But this looks awsome!
Thanks for sharing the article.

isn't redline 8400?
550 hp@8250
400ft-lb@5750
Doable. Is that SMG a double clutch transmission?
edit:
If not, Why not make it an 8 speed forward, 2 speed reverse.

Speaking of which - BOO to the new M5! The 200-2003 M5 was the last of the super sedans to offer a manual trans, the Audi RS6 and Mercedes E55 had gone auto. Now BMW joins them with this SMG. Yeah, the SMG is far better than an auto from a mechanical efficiency standpoint, but it's still no clutch-pedal-and-row-your-own-gear-lever.

No, he hasn't left BMW - they promoted him! He's not quite so directly involved in Design, but I don't recall his new title.
It's too late, though - the next generation 3 series design was finished a while ago.

I do like most of the new M5, but the rear end is pretty fugly.

His only fault is turning decent looking but plain and conservative cars into something distinctive and evolutionary.
I guess it's natural for humans to embrace the familiar and close their minds to anything new though.

As a BMW fanatic, I really think the BMW designs have gotten more bold and agressive for the better. BMW sales are up in every category, and they are performing better than any car in their respective classes. My dad's 7 is by far the best Luxo sedan on the market, and my mom's X5 is the best SUV. When we get the new M5, it will blow its competition away, and it is also a great looking car. Chris Bangle has gotten crap for this "flame-surfacing", but not many have known that he was responsible for the previous models designs from 1989 to present. He was promoted to oversee the BMW brand (Rolls, BMW, and mini). BMW is headed in the right direction, and the competition is getting further and further behind.
Also, they only offer Sequential Manual Gearbox, becuase it shifts faster than manuals, and it is the next big thing in transmissions. Lambo, BMW, Ferrari, and now porsche is getting into the mix of SMG. Lets face it, not that many people buy manuals anymore.

Most beautiful looking cars??? I don't know about that one. If you ask me he made vanilla cars less vanilla which is why so many people are up in arms about Bangle. I like BMWs and all, but they've never been the best looking cars out there if you ask me, save for maybe the 850 <drools>.
The new 5 series is one hell of a car and better than the previous 5 series even if I can't decide if I like the looks or not.
