Maniac is right. It doesn't matter if you or I don't like the way the G35 sedan or coupe look. The current G35 sedan looks like it was stamped from a sardine can. It is especially ugly when the clearcoat has worn off or is dirty. Nissan appears to have fixed that problem by making it look more like the G35 coupe. Looking at the pic, I'm not exactly sure what has been changed with the interior (I'll have to visit my local Infiniti dealership), but the lines and edges appear smoother/rounder. That center dash thing with the clock "sits" smoothly in rather than "stapled" in.

Thanks for sharing your opinions. Luckily 99% of the people agree that the Skyline is a great looking car for the price.

I also think the current G35 front end will age quickly and the interior looks like crap, BUT many other people think they look great or fine. The changes that Maniac outlined together with the increased HP will ENSURE that the G35 coupe and sedan will continue to sell well.

Every car goes through changes, cosmetically, it is not so important, phrasing out first production bugs is more important. Nissan is able to gain more power out of the VQ within a price constraint is a good thing for everyone.
Moving on..

Those are some prudent, heads-up changes by Nissan, which has produced some of the most under-engineered cars on the other side of the Pacific from the US! But the average dipshit on this side of the Pacific whose extended family has been buying GM/Ford/Chrysler complete crap for generations will never realize that truth. Thus, Maniac is completely right.

The worst car we've owned is a Mazda, you know that piece of crap called Mazda 626 with the auto transmission? Yeah we had that, not only was the performance hopeless, the fuel economy was terrible for a 2.2 litre car and the WELL KNOWN AUTO TRANSMISSION was replaced 3 times. The reason why we still have the car is because its unsellable and nobody wants it. Doesn't matter, I'm going to throw this crap down the sea and replace it with a Subaru Forrester. Nevermind we paid $30k for it when it was new.

Truely the worst car we've ever owned.

Nissan has already shown a willingness to address flaws (that are not too costly) quickly, as it did with the Altima interior. The Altima is a COMPLETE piece of **** inside and out, but now the interior is at least acceptable. It will continue to sell to a ton of lower income folks who have the IQ of a peanut.

Now this was what prompted me to reply to your dumb ignorant post.

You're saying that the majority ("ton of lower income folks") of people who buys cheaper cars have the IQ OF A PEANUT???

Quite frankly, you're an IDIOT. Who the *** are you to say that about people who may not have as much as you do?
People can buy whatever the hell they want, what the hell do you drive? DUMBASS.

Sorry Moderators, but I couldn't hold back.

I guess I'm in that one percent that find it hideous, like most Nissans.

You were expecting something other than hopeless performance from a 110 hp automatic sedan? Too cute.

Was it this, or that he pointed out that the Altima is complete garbage? I'm guessing the latter, since you seem like one of those Nissan freaks. I partly agree with him; not about the low income thing, but how people who buy Altimas (Nissans in general actually) seem to have the IQ's of a peanut.

I wasn't looking for a fight when I posted. My post attests to that. The comment about low income people buying the Altima is RIGHT ON, as that is Nissan's marketing strategy with the Altima. The comment about IQ of a peanut fits nicely when one considers all the other cars available besides the Altima. Many people who buy the Altima are simply not aware of its flawed chassis and don't even care; rather, they simply look at the HP combined with low price.

Shiri is obviously looking for a fight and seems to be underinformed and incapable of decoupling from his bias.

Score one for scorp76 over shiri, whose idiotic comments were ridiculously easy to pick apart.

Car and Driver once said regarding the Altima, "This is where the guys who move their lips while they read our charts write in to tell us we have the wrong rankings."

I took that to mean they're not that bright, which pretty much sums up most Nissan fans, Shiri here included.

Why is it everytime there is a RX-8 vs 350Z or G35 thread it always turn into a troll witch hunt? Is it the lack of debatable subject, blind hate, bias, or is it just too difficult to find counterpoints to valid arguments provided by the opposition? Makes you wonder.

Because Nissan sack riders can't stand anything bad being said about them. Not surprising, since there's SO much to point out.

This stuff usually starts when someone says something negative about the 8 right off the back. I mean, this is an RX8 board after all. Keep your negatively opinionated comments to yourself people, this goes for Nissan owners and Mazda owners (albeit more for Nissan owners since this isn't our board). There's no need to put down other cars, justify your own/others cars. If you let people get to you when they "diss" your car, then you're weak and you care too much about what others say.

I don't believe anybody said anything bad about the 8 right off the bat.

The topic was about the G35c, I only saw a couple of guys chest beating and saying crap about it and one post saying that the RX8 track time was only slightly slower than the Z. I just corrected him.

As for the other 2 guys, I don't know what they are trying to do, figure skating each other's ***?

so many people say the coupe handles so much better then the sedan but I think that is because it "looks" like it handles better. In reality there is not much difference in handling between the two, especially in real world driving situations.

I've driven in both and while the G35c wasn't my first choice in sports car (although a close 2nd), if I were older and had a family, the G35 sedan would probably be on the top of my list. Just a really nice car IMO.

Scorp,

I agree, I have never been a fan of Nissan styling. It becomes dated so quickly. What do you think of their new hump back whale mini van?

I have tracked both the sedan and the coupe on the same course~ and IMO there is a significant difference between these two. Most of the difference probably originated from center of gravity, suspension setup, brake and tires. The sedan is just as fast as the coupe on the straights, but at cornering limits there is a big difference.

Compared to the RX-8, the G35C feels like a heavyweight boxer. It's heavier, more powerful, and grips better if you are smooth. The RX-8 is easier to drive for beginners, but hard to drive very fast. It can zip around those slaloms and very tight corners easier. However the lack of low-mid range torque really hurts the performance on tracks. For example, you come into a 40mph corner on the track in the RX-8, you are out of the powerband on the 2nd gear, which means lazy acceleration out of the corner. RX-8 has a 9000rpm tach, but only the last 3000rpm provide useful torque. Whereas in the Nissan/Infiniti, 6500rpm limit but usable torque arrives early. I also notice the RX-8 has less understeer than the Nissan/Infiniti , but has more roll. Without the traction control, the RX-8 is rather tail happy, coupled with its softer spring, you really need to watch it on those transitions where rebound spring can throw the car sideways or into a spin.

Oh wait this is not supposed to be a G35 vs RX-8 thread~

Skyline Maniac, your comments are appreciated. Shiri, on the other hand, is like a dumbed down teenage squirrel on testosterone. There is no substitute for smarts.

Seems like you have a short memory in addition to your other obvious issues. I guess you forget going off on someone who hadn't even said **** to you or about you. He'd pointed out the truth about the Altima and you reacted like a typical Nissan sack rider.

I think it looks better than either G35, but it's still laugh out loud ugly inside and out.

Did you know the Nissan minivan center instrument console was designed with the help of Lego engineers?

That makes sense. I heard the original proposed door handle was actually a blue crank handle and gear mechanism that was ditched right before initial production.

I'm sorry but the Nissan minivan is one of the ugliest vehicles ever. It's up there with the Aztek, the Element, and those Scions.
