Spec B is a joke (I own a 05 LGT). Buy a LGT limited or not and take the difference in price and buy the good handling parts. You'll still have some $$$ left over for some power mods.

As far as the under-designed power plant, well, at least it's reliable.

I agree with BoxerGT2.5.

But rather than make an unfair comparision of your Sport MS6 to a Spec B (the GT is more comparable)... why not try a few mods on your MS6 (particularly if you migth consider keeping it beyond lease)...

Exactly. Buddy of mine has an 05 GT and that under-designed, reliable power plant is pulling (& sounding) very well @ about 280 to the wheels w/fairly cheap upgrades.

But it's def. a question of personal preferences. If you have the money to buy a "limited" edition more power to ya. Tho I'd guess that the people doing that are more of the 'status symbol' type, and prly choose another name brand over Subie.

The people that usually look at the LGT are former WRX/STI owners who grew out of the rally inspired look, or someone who really wants a reliable AWD car. The mods are cheap and easy to come by on the LGT. Our cars share alot of the same parts as the STI. I'm running a STI style turbo instead of the VF40 housing that the stock and upgraded LGT turbos use. FMIC is pretty much the same as the STI.

I agree it's not fair to compare my Speed 6 Sport to the Spec B. If course it's nicer. Comparing it to the GT Speed 6, I still think it's nicer. The AWD system is superior, it has more goodies like SI drive, and mp3 sound system, and I believe it's a more solid car as well. If you added Navi and moonroof to the Speed GT to match it properly, you are looking at near identical MSRPS, so judging it based on that, the Spec B I believe is a better car overall. That's just my opinion though. Although the looks are rather simple on a Legacy GT, I actually like that because I'd be buying the car as a daily beater, not an actual enthusiast car. I fully understand the criticism of the Spec B from a pure enthusiast point of view. Try looking at it from my point of view. The Speed 6 is my beater. I have an S2000 as my entusiast car. Other then a future Cobb AP, I wouldn't consider modding my Speed 6. I don't need it to handle really well, and I like the car for it's sleeper status. The Spec B to me is even more of a sleeper. If i were judging that car as my only vehicle, I wouldn't even remotely consider it, and I'd be criticizing like others. I also would not own a Speed 6 either, because I just don't prefer cars like this as my only vehicle.

My car is no longer a lease. Since I got it for $23500 on a lease deal, it really wasn't a lease to me at all. It allowed me to still get a great deal on the car while having minimal payments for the first two years, then paying off the lease in full and making car payments on it after, which is what I've been doing. I just cannot look at a midsize sedan as an enthusiast. It's just not my kind of car for that, but as a daily winter beater, it's truly the ultimate bargain, and I love it!!!!

You are one of the few people to do their homework on leases before buying a car and use that knowledge to get a good deal. One of the hardest things a sales consultant has to get across to the customer is a good lease pitch. Very few people will accept that the leasing a car, especially an expensive one, is often a better dealer than a regular purchase (even if you buy out the lease in the end). Great job on getting a great car deal.

Well of course with a S2000 as your summer/weekend plaything...

I think you got my point, but for everyone else... the few shortcomings of the MS6 Vs the SpecB are easily overcome for very little money.

As far as the HU goes... the Legacy is vastly inferior. If it wasn't for the addition of an AUX input and steering wheels controls on all models (only SpecB before) for '07 then I'd have to say it's an utter POS. No way to get rid of it and go aftermarket and no clean way to add AUX, satellite radio or anything to it. WTF?! For anyone that cares about those things... like connecting an iPod, it's vastly disappointing... and even now it's still only a AUX plug, not an iPod connector or anything fancy...
