It has no visual design cues to the rest of the Mazda-penned lineup save the tacked on front end.
For a small SUV, the Escape is just average and falling behind the competition--like most Ford products.
It really is sad that Mazda slaps a badge on it and sells it. With the CX-9 and CX-7 doing well and getting good reviews, a Mazda designed one would be light years better.

The interior is hideous with all of the different colors used. Most dealers have been adding leather gratis to make the sale. Interiors should be fixed soon though
