Car and Driver is reporting some of the specs and performance numbers of the 3 with Skyactive tech.
It is a 2.0 liter SKyactive gasoline engine. 163 HP and 155 T. That sits right in the middle of the current 2.0-liter, which puts out 148 hp and 135 lb-ft, and the optional 2.5-liter, which produces 167 hp and 168 lb-ft.
In combination with the new 6 speed AT fuel mileage in testing(not yet certified) has been rated at 30mpg city and 40 mpg highway.
There will be a 6speed manual available but the MPG with that has not been revealed yet. They dont mention if that is the new SkyActive MT or the current MT.

Citation from C&D:
"has Mazda hoping for an EPA rating of 30 mpg city/40 highway for the 2012 3—that’s up from bests of 25/33 and 22/29, respectively, for the current 2.0 and 2.5."
preety good numbers, still want to see the figures of EU version compared to 2.0 DISI 3 we have here in Europe and the "magic" Co2 figures.....

I agree with Paul, those wheels are hideous.
nice lookin' car though and the mpg figures are quite impressive considering the power output.

in the Mazda 2 they are developing for the first SkyActive gas product in Japan they are reportedly seeing the same MPG as a Honda Fit Hybrid- which is 70 mpg in the Japanese fuel efficiency test or 50ish in the US test. I'd love to see the Sky D 3 get that kind of number.
