New Mazda 2 is already in the UK and in Germany and everywhere else in EU AFAIK.
Mazda Motors Europe would not be so stupid not to have it where small cars rule.

HEADLINES are already questioning the use if a 4 cylinder in the CX-9.

2017 Mazda CX-9: Killer Redesign But Tiny 4-cylinder Worrying

2017 Mazda CX-9: Killer Redesign But Tiny 4-cylinder Worrying ? Autoomobile

A few guys in OZ are also saying the 2.5 turbo 4 in a CX-9 with a trailer and 5+ passengers wont work.

I wouldn't say "worrying", but a 6 cylinder option would be nice. I can name quite a few turbo 4 cyl CUV's weighing over 2 tons that manage just fine without a hint of being underpowered. Most consumers use these vehicles to transport their two kids to school and a few bags of groceries anyways. Soccer mom (or trophy wife) mobiles.

Was at a dealer in New Brunswick (Canada) 2 weeks ago, and the lot was full of CX-3's. Great looking car, btw.

The sales manager said that Canada isn't getting the Mazda 2, either.
What's up with that?

Also, why does Canada have the CX-3, but none in the states yet?
My wife and I were shocked when we pulled up to the dealer, and the entire front half of the inventory was CX-3's.

I wish Mazda wouldn't insist on being so stubborn...it will cost them dearly in the long run.

Not only that, but the very first CX-3 arrived at the Mazda dealership 10 miles up the road from my house. My wife and I test drove it today, too!

Soul Red Grand Touring, fully loaded, sticker is a bit over $29k.

It has the Parchment leather interior, and I have to say, it is really, really, really nice inside.

Quite a few inches lower than our Soul Red CX-5 (nearly 6", according to specs).
Handles bumps and rippled surfaces just as well as the CX-5, but has a much lighter feel to the car overall than the CX5 (637 less lbs will do that).

Handled corners really well for the class of vehicle it is.

Engine power is sufficient, and quite peppy once under way.
There's a bit of a short delay when you're starting off from a standstill, but it's not too bad, all things considered.

The Sport switch seemed to only make changes to the transmission programming, not anything to the throttle mapping, so you still get the same great Mazda throttle response, but your transmission shifts at higher revs, and locks out (what feels like) 5th and 6th gear in the transmission. I didn't bother with playing with the shifter paddles, and just let the transmission do it's job, and had no complaints, except for that bit of delay at initial takeoff.

My wife and I both love the new CX-3, and hope that the market buys as many as Mazda can produce.

Also, if anyone has any contacts at MNAO, can you please tell them to update the Mazda USA webpage so that not only can the consumers learn all about the new CX-3, but the dealers can learn all about it too? Our dealer had no information, or training on the car, and it was the same story from the 3 sales people, to the General Manager of the store. They weren't expecting it to arrive on Thursday, and when my wife and I just randomly showed up, and asked to look at the car (hadn't even had the protective wraps taken off yet), we knew way more about the car, since we had seen the car in person in Canada several weeks before.

BC.

So yeah they are shipping some obviously are already at dealers in Colorado California Texas and some east coast states. Texas sold the first one Thursday. Seattle area dealers have a bunch ordered coming in the next couple weeks and it sounds like Washington dealers basically ordered all AWD versions- since Subie sells so many vehicles in Oregon and Washington that makes sense. Dealers in my area will have them within a month. they just shipped a week or so ago.

So you can buy them now even if you cant yet drive one in your area

Hi all...

Just to confirm probably what you already know..

The DJ new Mazda 2 will also now not be going to Canada.

No new Mazda 2 for USA or Canada, only it's CX-3 derivative for NA.

Mexico is a yes and is on sale....

It's not easy to scoop a story from our biggest Mazda insiders, so I have to be on my toes.

Also, what I didn't mention is that last Sunday, my wife and I popped over to this same dealer (while it was closed, of course), and they had a Soul Red 2016 MX-5 Launch Edition sitting on the lot, with all the protective wrap removed, and it was unlocked.

I got to crawl all over that beautiful little car.

I'm 100% sure that I made the right choice in custom ordering my 2015 Cayman, however. Just shy of 8500 miles on it, and my wife and I took delivery on it on June 17th. Its been an awesome 2 months, let me tell you.

What Mazda needs next is to ramp up sales an extra 10 to 15% year over year, and start work on a 2 door sports car. I don't care if it's Skyactiv powered, or Rotary powered at this point in time, just build the damn thing.

I'm going to need a second sports car in 5 years.

If you REALLY want a Mazda2 I can buy it for you and ship it over... They've been Federalized anyways so they're legal. Prepaid of course

Here we have had the CX-3 since Feb/March and MA are saying that they are seeing a complete new cliental coming into Dealer showrooms to look at the CX-3 because our starting price is a low (for us) $19K, once they see how small the CX-3 actually is and then the rest of the Mazda range many are going for the CX-5 instead.

Both are selling well but the CX-5 is just going gangbusters.

Mazda in Australia will have another record year with so far a 10.1% growth, the only other car brand here who is close is Mitsubishi of 8%, all the others are having single digit growth of less that 2% year to date, including Toyota, Nissan, Honda (basket case), Ford, Holden, VW, etc.

More people now in Australia buy a new Mazda as their private car than any other brand, and Mazda do not do big fleet here, like Toyota Australia.

i confirm that is the same here in Europe, the largest part of sales in EU are from private customers, fleets are dominated by German manufacturers, the lease quotes are the lowest in the market.

CX-5 is a big hit also in Europe and sales of CX-3 are high since the first day. if you order a CX-3 today, delivery is scheduled for december.

Hi me old mate Matt
Hope you are OK, how is your GJ Mazda 6 going?
How do you like your new Mazda now she is a few years old?

Yep here in Oz, Mazda has had double digit growth for the past 10 years even the 2008 GFC was only a minor blimp (here).

Good to see that many people are getting Mazda's engineering and class.

This new CX-9 does concern me a little, I hope it has enough POWER for a 7 seater.

Hi Ash, hope you are well..

just finished a trip of 200 km into the most crowded highway in North Italy, ACC on, RVM on and 7.5 l/100 km on the board computer @ 130 km/h engine is revving at 2500 rpm.

the car runs smooth and is very comfortable, no issues , now is 43000 km on the ODO.

the only one problem is the wind noise from lateral glasses, there is a TSB ,but only for US market (i've seen your topic), and Mazda Europe have nothing about this issue.

is the only one thing that i'm complain a bit after 2 years of owning. fantastic car. my family agree.

i hope that Mazda will go more deep into premium market, because have the right technology to compete IMO (eventually with toyota hybrid tech).

still hope about the rotary..even hybrid. i consider myself a possible customer.

Matt, there is a TSB on all the noises (wind etc) on the Series 1 GJ Mazda 6, and definitely for Europe.
Here is a TSB copy in English, print a copy and get your car done, Mazda Europe must do the repair for you as the TSB includes Europe and North America (from June , 2015).
TSB is from MMC Japan.

Complain to your dealer and quote the TSB Number R053/14B or take in a copy.

DESCRIPTION
While driving at 60 km/h or more, some vehicles may exhibit a wind noise which is heard around the front part of the front door (around power outer mirror base).
CAUSE
The wind noise may occur when air is passing through minimal gaps between the parts at the front door front edge and the corresponding body panel.
MASS PRODUCTION CHANGE
Configuration of the front beltline molding and other respective parts have been changed to narrow the gaps between the door and the body panel.

Matt, the replacement new Parts in this TSB are also modified to use the same used in current Series 2 GJ Mazda 6 Parts.

Ash

So the CX-3 is a little more expensive than a Mazda3 hatch, has less power/tq, much less interior space, less MPGs, not available with a manual, will never have the 2.5l, and people are getting crazy about them? I don't get it.

I rather have a 2.5, manual Mazda3 hatch. The ONLY thing missing would be the awd...
