Yep, BOP needs to be adjusted again. The balance used to be that the Mazdas didn't have the punch of the V8s coming out of the corners but could build up speed over a long straight. There was none of that at Laguna Seca.
yeah, I'm usually not a fan of tinkering with the BoP too much but I do believe that the Mazdas have lost the advantage they had a few races ago.
With Caddy and Acura heading into a winner take all race at Sebring, IMSA has nothing to lose by giving Mazda a little assistance here as a win won't help Mazda win a title.
should be interesting to see if they do make a change to Acura or Cadillac considering how much is on the line in that race.
Alright, this is it guys the Season Finale is here and about to start.
so odd to see the cars @ Sebring in November!
Acura took the pole again, they're crazy fast but Cadillac is right behind them on the grid which should make for an awesome race since it all comes down to THIS race to crown a Champion.
Will Helio win his first championship of his 20 year career? Does the Captain get a title before handing the cars over tomorrow to WTR and MS
Can Cadillac pull this off and win another championship?
or does Mazda play spoiler and throw a monkey wrench into the whole thing.
oh!!!
the #10 hit with a drive thru penalty for an improper start to the race. ouch.
I'm getting flashbacks of the Rolex though where they got hit with a penalty, dropped all the way to the back of the field and yet still managed to claw back and win.
can they do it again? or did they just hand the championship to Acura.
oh dang!
Acura #7 and championship leading Ricky Taylor has reported he's lost all boost in the car.
they're crawling out there and trying to bring it back to the pits.
teammate #6 in full attack mode as they take the lead but this could be brutal for Acura.
I was just about to post that I predict a problem for one of the Acuras. Hopefully not for the Mazdas. Maybe one of the Caddies will cook its brakes like at Petit Le Mans.
wow, still in the garage trying to get repaired.
what a heartbreak for Ricky and Helio. We know this track hasn't been nice to the Acuras over the years and apparently 2020 is no exception.
Report: bad intercooler.
turbo is out as 8 mechanics try to fix it
the racing gods giveth and they taketh away.
both leading GTD Lexus cars just hit oil on the track and completely wiped out into the tire barrier.
#4 corvette must have lost an engine or oil line because it started gushing fluid which is what the Lexus guys hit.
Bad luck for #55.
Corvette turned in on it when the RT24 was already halfway past and popped some body work off.
And there was some pit trouble with the right front wheel. Something had to be hammered off/down on the hub because the tire gun couldn't engage the nut.
77 got too deep into the corner and hit the rear corner of #10.
damn it, I go out to do some stuff in the yard and I missed all kinds of fun stuff.
ugh I feel like that's been #55's season with the constant bad luck.
Looks like Mazda running a solid 3rd and 4th.
where did this #5 Cadillac come from, didn't expect them to be in contention today but they seem to be doing well.
this race should get real interesting in about an hour when the sun sets
I think #5 lucked out from all the shuffling going on from the 7 full course yellows. Haven't been watching the last hour so mayber another one happened.
Looks like the #77 is running well and in 2nd.
never know what can happen with these next few hours in the dark but I think Mazda has a chance. *knocks on wood*
another yellow courtesy of the Vette crashing into the tire wall.
This will bunch up the pack again, probably let the 10 & 7 make up a lap but I'm anxious to see this restart.
Mazda seems to have good speed today, lets see if they can pounce when they go green
