You could set your car on fire. The % depends on who installs it. Experienced person would have maybe 99% success. Person with no experience with cars or nitrous, maybe 90% success rate. The most dangerous part of installing a wet kit is you have to modify the fuel line by cutting it to attach the T fitting. If done carelessly it will slip off and spill gas all over the place.

You could set your car on fire just starting it...
Is NOS safer than stock, of course not. But if you spend the money to buy a good setup and have it installed at a knowledgable shop, it should be a safe, low cost option for some get-up-and-go just when you need it. The kit should have a WOT sensor (only fires at all on WOT) and a window sensor (will only spray over a given RPM, even when WOT) to ensure that your car is only getting the shot when it's ready.
Make sure your engine is in good running order before doing this and only run high octane fuel (which you're supposed to do anyway).
And if you're considering it, you may also want to consider installing a purge kit as well. This just removes any vapor from the line when you release the throttle (gives a cool little blast out the purge line) making delivery just a little quicker the next time you hit it.
And don't go over a 50 shot. The stock engine isn't really ready for that, and neither is your tranny (IMHO).
All that being said, I'm a stock guy. I like to appreciate the car for what it is, a turn gobbler, not a quarter miler.

u can go ove a 50shot some people are over that.
as far as safe of course it will ware ur engine faster but not as fast as u might think. As long as u not using it everyday u will be fine and make sure u do it above 3.5k or 4k rpm before u spray. ya the fuel would be the hardest but as long as u take ur time and do it correctly. people on the forum have been using it for a couple years now and some dont have any problems cuz they dont get all crazy and out of control with extra power at a touch of a button
search the forum there is plenty of info and the 50 shot wont give u a full 50hp... the tranny is strong enough to last i think it was 350hp or around there. so dont worry u will be fine dont get crazy with it and do it every day and in every gear else u will be sitting on the side of the freeway..

what kit are you using? The recommended/preferred kit for the 8 on this forum is the zex kit which uses a 55 shot. Some people use the 65 shot and don't have issues, though that's really up to you. The only thing that you'll really see recommended is the 55 shot. As far as install, the only real risk you have is the fuel line as mentioned above. Everything else is very simple.
Talk to charles r hill and make sure you have everything you need and that your kit will work properly.
It's best if you only use it above 4k. A very slight bit lower might be ok, but 4k rpm is the best bet. Aside from that, you shouldn't have any issues if it's installed properly. Make sure you post detailed pictures of the install before you use it. If you have someone else install it, make them go over everything with you so you can be sure to take pictures of the important parts. It's much better to look like an idiot and fix an error than to look like an idiot with a broken car.
DCS tip might be a good idea if you're using it first gear. Maybe second. By third you should be alright.
