500BHP 62 Bus beats a GT3 on the track!

This bus is powered by twin turbo 993 motor. It out brakes and accelerates a GT3 on the track.

I don't know about out-accelerate but it sure was a trip to see that thing hauling *** around the ring. I want to see some more videos of it. I'm almost waiting for pieces to start falling off when it takes a turn.

lol. hahaha. yeah, but the thing is that i don't believe this bus can outbrake and out accelerate the Porche GT3. From the video, it sure seems like it can, but it might just be that the Porche driver sucks.

of cuz a 993 twin turbo water-cooled bus would out-accelerate the GT3.. i doubt that motor is even stock.. the way it pulled the GT3 at the straight..

I'm sure the VW bus is putting down more power, but in that one part the Porsche was catching up before the VW was even braking. It's probably aerodynamics (or the lack thereof) on the van's part that accounted for that.

Looking at it again, I think the bus took the GT3. He beat him to the corner and as a result had a better line. You can see the GT3 brake later which most likely was due to the bus having the inside line.

driver of the bus knows what he's doing.. the line he's taking and all.. how many of us can drive that car and beat a GT3?? lol

would a VW bus be lighter than the street version of the GT3 (which has all that heavy interior stuff like seats and a dashboard)?

a race spec GT3 is only 20kg lighter than the street because of the seats.. but it also has added the rollcage (option).. there should've be that much a difference.

A 993 twin turbo motor would pull way harder than a 3.6L GT3 that's for sure!!

good info but anyone know how much a VW bus weighs (well it's probably only the shell but you gotta start somewhere)? I'm guessing they might actually be pretty light due to no safety requirements.

1 clapped out, stripped and caged VW Microbus $1500
1 3.8 TT engine $15,000
1 set of 911 front struts with Brembo brakes $1500

That and I think he's a little more willing to trade paint than the 2 guys driving $300K+ worth of cars. Just like on the highway...

I imagine the "Barn door on wheels" aerodynamics started to play a roll on the straightaway which is why the Porsche start to gain at the end.
