So the 8 floods, needs to warm up or your done, terrible fuel.

My questions is what are the negatives/postives of the 350Z and the G35?

I think he means that you need to warm up your Rotary engine before turning it off or you will increase the probability of flooding the engine. I hope that you knew that if you actually own an RX-8. I think he is also referring to the testamonials from other RX8 drivers who have found it difficult to attain the projected fuel mileage that Mazda stated.

As for Z disadvantages, as an owner I'd say:
Lack of rear seats and trunk space. I mean there is some space there in the back, but not a lot.
Tire feathering, it does cause a bit more interior road noise when slowing down below 30mph, but if you can live with that (like I can) then it's no big deal.
Poor rear 3/4 visibility b/c of the sloping fastback/hatch.
Ride is stiffer/harsher than the 8.
6600 RPM redline, although the massive amount of torque at low RPM's makes up for it.
Interior is very spartan and not refined.

Yes Zthang I know that, and so does everyone in the world by now. If you cannot accept the quirks of this engine, move on cause maybe this car is not for you. That is what I meant and many others who answer these questions.

The general public have some real issues with flooding and bad gas mileage. Guess he has some type of super RX8.

When did i say it bothers me? It doesn't. Its the "general" negatives of the car.

I'm wondering the "general" negatives of the 350Z and the G35.

If you can't answer that, please don't post. Thanks to anyone that is half educated that helps me.

I've never looked at any "decent" cars before and i just did my taxes and have my first $120,000 + year.

Instead of deciding on a Civic, i can actually investigate something with a little bit more class.

2 things I don't like about the Z, Transmission vibration and it's heavy.

The one thing I'd mention about the Z which is why I primarily ruled it out... understeer.

That's about it. The looks are great on the outside and inside sure... can use some sprucing up but overall a decent package that would suck on Auto-X

It does have a slight understeer bias, but just punch the throttle a little in the middle of the turn and that rear will slide out so fast (almost too easily, i've gotten into trouble a couple of times doing this inadvertently). Although this still probably won't help in auto-x because you want to keep traction at all times :D

another problem with the Z, if you 6'6" all you can do is look at it. No thanks, I like driven my 8 and it looks better too.

different strokes for different folks...but the 350z looks WAY better then the RX-8.
The RX-8 is an awesome looking car...but the 350z WOW.
There both my dream cars hehe.
I need to make a decision this week.

Not to metion every ex-IROC driver and there brother will have a RX-8 by the summers end...with the cheap price tag...you know its going to happen.
There going to be like Civics....its to bad, but its so cheap so its bound to happen.

There are already a ton of 350Zs on the road. I know they have been out longer, but I don't see the RX8 being any more visible no matter how well they sell. Mazda's goal isn't to sell the same number of 8s as Honda does civics (I'm sure they would like it, but its not going to happen).

Not to mention that most muscler car drivers probably aren't going to want to a car that has a high reving, lower torque engine, IMO.

The real one does yes, but if you go over to www.my350z.com forum, just about every member there who has the kit gets the replica. It looks exactly the same and costs less than $1k with the spoiler. Take a look at the gallery over there, there are some nice kits.

Very true...i don't see the 8 being very common at all. Just being a rotary puts it in a small special niche in the marketplace.

Remember that these engines are hand-built in a clean room, so I just don't see mazda producing as many as Honda does civic engines. Not to mention the fact that extra engine will be built for racing teams and replacement engines, so the number of actual rx-8's built will be smaller than the number of engines built.

Looks like the major problems of the 350Z are Tire Feathering and grease on windows.

Really a shame that my 2 dream cars have some major issues they need to work out!

Slowly i will figure this car thing out!

The tire feathering i understand, but i would not consider a small (approx. 1 cm thick on my car) line of grease that goes up your window a "major" problem.
