8 is gone - Next car is?

Don't worry I've looking into all insurance quotes already. WRX is the most out of all the cars for some reason. The GTO is cheaper than the 350z. The 8, Cobra, and all of those cars are all around the same price range, maybe + or - a couple dollars apart a year.

Good luck finding a LS1 RX-7 for sale. How much do those normally go for anyway? Unless you are going to be racing, or tracking it, I say stick to the GTO or 350Z. I'm starting to sway toward the GTO after hearing how mod friendly it is. Although I still prefer the looks of the 350Z.

I've done some extensive research on LS1 FD's and I'm going to be doing the swap myself. Going to get all the information and parts list and then begin ordering everything if I can follow through. In all, an fd will be around 12-13,000 and the swap will be around 10k max, so probably around 22-23k. With the extra 5k, I can improve suspension and better tires.
What I love about the LS1 FD is it has the exotic looks of the FD and the reliability of the LS1, plus people are getting 23-25mpg. What else could you ask for?!?

I do not want to be driving regularly in the streets and have the pickup be so strong that I lose control of the rear.
you come back every two weeks saying you've done "extensive research" on various cars that you obviously know nothing about and then dismiss cars for little things like "the engine bay being too cramped" wow what an inconvenience then you decide it would be a whole lot easier to do a complete engine swap which you've probably never even experienced in real life.

lets say i pay 110 for full-covereage 300-500-300 for the '8'
before i was debating between the 8 and the s2k.. but the 8's insurance was way cheaper.. they wanted 210 a month for the s2k... lol no thanks. soo look into that too unless you dont care about the price of insurance

S2000 and 350Z were a little more than the 8, but not much.

have you looked into insurance for an LS1-FD (if you can coverage for it at all and how much it would be) and done research as to whether such a swap would be street legal? i'm pretty sure in georgia they aren't...
* Federal law prohibits tampering with emission control systems or other systems reconfiguration that might degrade the effectiveness of emission controls.
* Engine switches are acceptable as long as the resulting vehicle matches exactly to any "certified" configuration of the same or newer make and model year as the chassis.
* Diesel powered vehicles that have been converted to operate on gasoline must meet the emissions standards and applicable emission control equipment for the year, make, model of its equivalent gasoline vehicle's body and chassis. Simply put, a diesel-to-gasoline conversion is legal if the gasoline engine used was originally available from the original auto manufacture in the same year body/chassis as the diesel engine.
