87 fc turbo 2 tell me what you think
heres the story, i have the chance to buy an 87 fc turbo 2 for a steal.
what i know
103k on body
ive been told the engine was replaced at 87k
needs paint and some tlc
the car has sat for almost 2 years
ive seen many pics and it looks prettty straight/no rust through
its about 3 1/2 hours away from me it belongs to a friends dad who fixes up cars and flips them. he doesnt know that much about rotaries but has some knowledage of them. he sanded some small surface rust but nothing major.
hasnt tried to start it and hes in the process of draining the old gas but doesnt want to get to involved if im gonna buy it.
no compression check has been done but it is all origional/no aftermarket anything.
i can pick it up for a grand
thoughts?

Go for it. You can part it out for over a grand if it's a dud. So use it as a cheap learning tool you wont mind ******* something up on.
I payed over $2000 for my first T2. I only drove it for a couple weeks, but it taught me everything i know about working on cars, and that i would not trade for anything.
