Accident
Ok while I was driving down the road the sun was in the same direction as the traffic light. My dad told me the light was turning red so I stopped. I stopped alittle over the stop line and two people rear ended me. They lied and said the light was green, cause they probably couldn't see the light. So heres the problem, the two people that crashed into me claimed that the light was green, when it wasn't. But even if it was green shouldn't they have been following at a safe distance and not crashed into me? Our car was the least damaged. The other had a curved hood, and a smashed light, the other car had a smashed light too. They were pissed at me cause my car wasn't damaged. Well there were 3 parties total. Me, my dad and my brother in our car, this other family with the dad, wife, and 1 son, and another car with just 1 guy. So both of them claim the light is green. But I still think regardless of what the light is it is their fault that they rear ended us. Yeah cause the light was changed and I feel that regardless of what the light was its not my fault, but since it was 2 against 1 they won and they police now think its green. So I have to go to violations court to dispute this claim.
So what should I do guys?

Doesn't matter what they say, they are required to maintain a safe driving distance from you. They cannot count on you not having to do a full brake lockup to avoid hitting something on the road, or to stop from running a red light.
I had an eclipse do something similar not too long ago. I jammed it and was trying to beat the signal, but it turned red, so I braked and came to a stop. A few moments later I hear a car going off the side of the road (to my right). The eclipse was a full car length past me. Talk about poor brakes.

If it is important that you not be convicted, get a lawyer. The initial consultation will be free, taking it to court will cost you more than the ticket. The insurance companies will take statements and work out their interpretation of who was at fault in arbitration. When they call to take your statement, they will as if any tickets were issued. If you successfully defend your self in court, let them know.

It doesn't matter the reason you stopped, you could of had a heart attack or something for all they know, they are required to maintain a safe distance that would allow them time to come to a complete stop. If the sun was hitting the signal lights and it looked red (hint hint), they should still not have hit you...

LOL. They can say it is your fault all they want but the first car hit you from behind, so he wasn't paying enough attention and maintaining a safe distance. The second car that is the biggest idiot. He was obviously wasn't paying any attention at all! He rear ends two non-moving vehicles.
What the heck, blame it on that guy and say he slammed into the middle guy and shoved him into you.
Bottom line, they rear-ended you and they should have been paying attention and maintaining a safe enough distance. I don't see why this should be considered your fault.
P.S. I see your car was silver.

The thing is I was crashed into twice, I got hit once, then heard nasty noises, then crashed again, followed by more plastic twisting noises. Our car has almost NO damage. The other cars were fucked up really, really bad.

IM so sad, but my dad is not angry at me cause he says he knows its not my fault so I will get my new car :D He might be a little more hesitant to let me drive it alone though manual and all

**** happens. Very few of us will be able to avoid ever getting into car accidents. I've been in three where the car has been totaled, so far. Just count your blessings when everyone involved can walk away.

It looks silver in the picture. LOL
Everytime I have been in an accident I have been a passenger that has been rear-ended. All but one time we have been rear-ended by a Dodge vehicle, so my family always jokes that Dodges don't have brakes.

YOU GOT REAR-ENDED. How on earth could it be your fault???
If you absolutely have to make up a story, say a deer (or dog, cat, squirrel, unicorn, kodiak bear, whale shark..... any old animal should do) ran out in front of the car. I'm 17, I actually got a speeding ticket (gasps all around) & I'm still alive. Don't fret, youngin'.

This same exact thing happened to my Mom last year.
She ended up being 0% at fault, and actually got like 6 grand out of the whole ordeal, although it did take the courts several months to finally come to a settlement figure, and her car didn't get fixed until everything was said and done.
