Anyways, as we are about to leave the sales manager (who sold me my 8) stops us and tells me he'll give me a great deal on a 6. So we looked, we drove, and we bought. It ended up being about as nice as the others and I got it for $23k loaded. Seems like a good car and hopefully we'll will have good luck with it. Thanks for the input everyone.

Smart....very smart! For the money you get little bit of everything from this car. I do wish it were a little bigger though.

I'd say get the TL even over the G35, slightly better build quality from Honda over Nissan and you don't have to hold your head sideways in the rear seat.
I loved the TL till I drove it. Handling was very loose IMO. I found it hard to read the instruments. Wasnt real happy with controls. The AT's sport shift is backwards from every other make Ive driven. And the trunk still has those friggin' half moon hinges that take up space and can damage stuff. I actually thought the TSX was a much better driving car, if you can handle the size. The TL did have a lot of nice bell and whistle features though.

great call with the 6...keeping within the mazda family always makes me smile (my 8 and Millenia S smiled I know that)...as for the 3 my gf has one too...she loves it, she got it manual and it is a blast to drive, Civic/Accord, etc. complete rip off!

Chirp around every corner and parking lot?! Try inflating your tires. There's absolutely no reason a car's tires should chirp around a parking lot. No one uses all 270 hp in a parking lot.

You guys make it sound like FWD is the devil. While I agree it's not the best route for sports sedans usually, the good majority of reviews the car recieved from magazines said the torque steer was unnoticable in automatic form. They said it's present in the 6-speed a little, but there's nothing wrong with it in automatic form.

A good number of people seem to forget the TSX is FWD too.

hey a Chevy Suburban has around 270 HP, you can choose that too, it's got to kick the TSX's ***...more HP equal faster right?

TL is an oversized, heavy, poor handling relatively large Sedan...I've driven it, it is a boat compared to the TSX

Which would you feel safer putting your family in? TL or TSX?

Hell, just get a dump truck, that's probably got more hp as well. We're talking about 2 different classes of vehicles. TL = more refined, TSX = sportier. I never mentioned anything about going faster, I referenced that it had more hp. The front wheel drive platform/torque steer doesn't bother me (I've had a Mazda MX-6 GT, Millenia S, and a 626 ES). You have to learn how to drive them just like having to learn how to drive a Mustang with the Posi-Traction in the rain. The TSX is a toy..I'd rather have the Accord V-6 or better yet the Mazda6S in that class.

Good choice. When I was looking to buy my 8 , we were also looking at the mazda 6. Drives nice and a great value......to bad you didn't wait for the MS version.

my friend got an Acura TL for his first car and i was curious so i asked him if i could take it out for a spin...and i hate to say this but i was very disappointed because of all of the car's hype...it had such high expectations on its performance...the car pulls very smoothly and you never realize how fast you're going in it...i was doing 100 in a 50 and didn't even notice...one thing that i disliked a lot was the SMG on the vehicle...the response was slower than i thought it should be on the car...the car had great throttle response though...and when a lot of people say that FWD kill it...i agree because i think i would have had a lot more fun and a lot less disappointed if it were RWD...to me i think the TSX would be a better choice...

You know, Im not completly sold on it. Its pretty cool looking. But Ive heard they will have a turbo 4 and Ive heard its a turbo 6. So which engine is it? Plus what are they gonna charge for that? The sticker on mine was 26K. That still didnt include moonroof or 6 disk changer. I really like the 6...but if its over 30K...I dont see the value...no matter how fast they make it.

A TL for his first car...That Aint Right! Maybe times have changed. When I was a teen I thought luxury sedans were for old people. Its a hell of a car, but just like you I was very disappoited in the way it drove. Lets face it, FWD is the Honda way. How many cars have they had with RWD...2?
