after a long debate, I finally bought 06 evo
Financially it wasn't smart for me to make that move, but I did it anyway..
I traded in my 8 and
I got the 06 Evo MR edition in graphite gray.
Here's the impression,,
Look
The front end looks very carismatic. With its intercooler showing and vented hood along with agressive looking hid housing makes it look pretty nice. The carbon fiber wing isn't as ugly as the sti's and smoked out taillights are also good looking.
The side profile of the car seems little bit high due to it being a sedan and 17 inch
wheel. But overall, the car looks nice.
Interior
I was impressed by the interior, but its probably because I didn't expect that much from evo. First of all, the seats are really nice. But one bad thing about the seat is, it is not reclinable. The center gauge area looks mediocre with red lighting.
I like the alumium shifter and carbon fiber break handle. 3 little mitsu gauges (oil temp, volt, and boost) illuminate and they are cute
Handling
There is less body roll than rx8. They handle about the same but when cornering hard, I feel more secure in rx8 than evo. Maybe because I'm not used to my new car yet, but I think rx8 still has slight edge when comes to cornering.
Performance
boost hits approximately after 3k rpm. I only raised the rpm upto 5k for proper engine break in, but still the car is insanely fast!! Once the turbo spools, it launches like a rocket. I let my buddy (g35c owner) drive it and he described it as if someone was pulling his hair from the back seat. The surge of power throws you to the back of the seat and there is nothing like it. He also said it definitely seems like it has tons more torque than his g35c. In short words, 06 evo MRs are
fast!!
I will miss my rx8 and its awesome sound,,I lost too much on the deal,
I had no buyer for my racinghart CXs which i paid an arm and a leg for, and I had to include it the trade in as I was gonna miss the awesome deal if i didn't take action fast. I did what I had to and wanted to do and no regrets.
I will be back to rotary once the new rx7tt possibly hits the road someday.

I don't get why people mod the hell out of cars then trade it in with the parts installed knowing they won't get jack **** on it.
I'll be damn if I bought wheels and tires that cost an arm and leg and trade it in with the car.

whoever thinks rx8 handles better than evo must be smoking something. only cars I can think of that handles as well or better than the EVO under 50k is the s2k and elise. RX8 is a great handling car but Evo is a notch above it IMO
