Nice,I think Mazda hired the passionate designers of the 90's , these new cars coming out from Mazda look absolutely fabulous!
While other car companies are building appliances on wheels, Mazda is actually building cars for the masses and the enthusiast and everybody that fits in between. Great job Mazda!

which i'm glad to see they have listened and found a way to give the grill opening size they want , still hide the crash bar and not use the black plastic "mustache" they've been using on the most recent cars

Hatch will be revealed later towards the launch Maybe NAIAS or New York. Im really hoping to see a coupe.
i had one interior shot from the Iceland testing thread
Early next year as a 2010 model
now i haven't heard anything about a coupe but i think this new version would be stunning in coupe form and if they dropped in that 2.2l 185hp turbo diesel (actually if they brought the diesel to the states in any body style) that we read about in the first drive article i'd be sorley tempted to purchase a third car

However, the real surprise comes from the 2.2-litre diesel. Not only is this motor also exceptionally refined, it also has quite exceptional pace, especially in the compact 3. Very well matched with the ratios in the six-speed ‘box, the 2.2 had standout overtaking ability – always a good indication of real-world performance. Indeed, such is the engine’s mid-range muscle, Mazda engineers admitted that this model has superior performance to the current 3 MPS.

I like that there is no traditional grill between the headlamps and the nose in general looks like it slopes down as opposed to the very blunt front ends of most of the other cars this size.

I like the 3 and 2 better than the Focus and Fiesta, but I like 'em all a lot. Ford/MazdaUSA should sell the former at a slight ($1-2K) premium -- they will dominate the C and B segments. How the hell can Ford be selling for $1.99 a share?
How about a Group Buy?

the mustache has been curled and "vented"...looks good..

Exactly! They did a much better job with the grill opening than on the 8 but I don't like the black plastic for the side intake vents with the fog lights. Other than that, sharp looking car.

Trunk release? The USDM Mazda6 has a electronic trunk release button. Also is DSC going to be standard now?
