I have seen the insides of the Skyactiv G 2.0 engine...

Fuel Injector Rail and Injectors...

Injectors each have a metal casing and a Special Tool is required to renew O rings and Teflon Seal, which must be renewed every time any injector is inspected or removed... Injector assemblies come with all new seals included if the Injector itself is renewed.

Timing Chain .....

Front Timing Chain Cover is a long thin metal one (not Plastic), VVT Gears are definitely Mazda origin and stamped. Timing Chain set up is similar to MZR with similar Chain Tensioner and a single one piece Timing Chain, lower Crank Pulley and Chain Sprocket is keyed unlike MZR.

Timing Chain has 3 color coded links so alignment/installation is performed correctly on both Camshafts and the Crank Sprocket....One single yellow chain link for bottom marked Crank Sprocket (29 links from Cam mark to Crank mark) and two single orange Camshaft Sprocket chain links, one for each of the two marked Camshaft Gears (11 links from Cam mark to Cam mark).

VVT actuator is Electric (twin wiring loom plugs)..

Engine Valve and Camshaft Cover is Black Plastic.

Looks great in Silver..I must say...

A little sick of looking at BLUE for every new release...like the CX-5 and new SA Mazda 3...BLUE!!

BTW..Note the front bumper sensor for the directional changing radar warning system, under headlamp washer..

yeah, i like it as well.. we are in the search for a new suv, but i will hold out for the diesel if it ever comes.
