Any CTS-V owners here?
Just curious - looking for thoughts from those who have driven both the V and the RX8, or perhaps own both, on what I could expect in terms of long-term driving satisfaction.
I've read about the rear-end troubles, although that seems mostly centered around those who like to drag-race, or launch hard, etc.
Thoughts?

I'd personally wait for the next gen CTS-V (new sigma chassis) if they use the LS3, or if money is an issue, get a Pontiac G8 (new zeta chassis). Rumors abound that they'll stick a supercharged 6.2L V8, or use an LS7. I hope they don't do that, because that'll push the price waaay up.

I like them, but yes, the diff is weak. They're fast... it's a knock down drag out fight with GTO, and they pull up top really hard.

Thanks - I don't have the money for anything newer than prolly a 2005...while those other cars are gonna be neat, I'll 'settle'.

I can't get away from it - I actually read a CTS-V owner saying (when comparing to a GTO, or some other car like that)..."But the CTSV shine when the road gets curvy - it'll definitely smoke it in the twisties!"
