Any Windshield Wiper Jet MODS?

This is totally unimportant, but...

I was wondering if anyone has made any modifications to the wiper jets on their 8.

My wife's car is a Jetta (dont hit me ), and I have to say that their jets are pretty impressive, offering a superior spray coverage. You totally notice the difference in the winter when you're constantly trying to clean your windshield.

The 8's jets seem to be less of a spray and more of a water gun.

So, I was wondering if anyone MOD-ed their jets to offer more coverage of the wind shield?

Thanks for any HELPFUL response, not just bashing my simple question; like: "I keep my car clean, so I wouldn't know.." or "I just concentrate on driving..."

Thanks again.

I'd assume there is a way to put a "cover" over the jets to disperse it differently. Has it been done? Good question, lol.

I have never heard of this issue before, and I can honestly say I've never had to use my jets. You should be able to take the nozzles off and play around with them under a faucet to get a spray you like.

I suppose you could replace the entire sprayer bit with one from a jetta if you like their pattern more.

You can stick a pin into the nozzle of the sprayers and adjust them to spray where you want (including right over your roof and onto the car behind you). It's a pain in the *** to get them just right though.

Thats good to know that they are adjustable...i haven't looked, but can you twist the nozzle sort of like a windex bottle to get more of a mist?

i actually had to order new ones because my driver side sprayer cracked. Water got in it somehow and froze. split it wide open. Anyway, so i ordered two new nozzles and was able to replace the driver side without any problem. the passenger side nozzle though is a PITA. I can't pull it far enough out of the hole to disconnect it from the hose. There's no slack it seems and i don't want to just keep pulling, hoping it comes from as if it's snagged. my luck is that there simply is no slack and i either snap the hose or break it entirely.

So if anyone has replaced the passenger side nozzle, lemme know what you did to work it free.

Not a jet mod... a pump mod... A higher pressure pump would not only get rid of the spray gun effect that dirty jets give you, but also force more fluid on to the windshield quicker.

I'm not so sure. the nozzle is what determines the spray pattern. pressure just makes for greater range/volume.
