Anyone ever use AMSOIL or its Oil bypass system
Anyone ever use AMSOIL? They claim to be the first to produce synthetic oil and, of course, they claim to be the best. It's kinda strange that they only sell their stuff over the internet or through mail order. Are they legit?
Also, they have an oil bypass system that suppose to remove particles in the oil that is 1/10 micron in size. The other benefit is that the system let's you locate the oil filter to somewhere more convenient, i.e. right under the hood. Anyone have experience with this system?
If the oil bypass system is for real, it might make for an interesting mod in the 8.

EDIT: Forgot to post the link to the oil bypass system

Amsoil is a legit company producing one of the top oil products available to the general consumer at reasonable prices. I personally use Mobil1 because it's a bit cheaper and easier to buy at Walmart but Amsoil would be my second choice.
You can find all the info you need about it on this "motor oil and other lubricants" webboard: http://theoildrop.server101.com/ubb/ultimatebb.php

Amsoil makes the best stock intake drop filter for the 93-01 Imprezas but I've never tried their oil but their intake was seriously GOOD.
I prefer Redline motor oil but that's not nearly as difficult to come by but at $7 a quart in CA, it's not exactly cheap but VERY effective. Car runs smoother, idles smoother, revs more willingly (but this may be a placebo effect) but the 1st two are very noticable.
