Anyone heard of Tripoint Engineering?
I saw this company on the seven forums, but I wanted to know if any of the So Cal 8's have ever been there. They're located in Canoga Park, so if anyone local has been to their shop, I'd appreciate any feedbacks.
I called them to see how much would it cost to the dyno my 8 --don't have any major mods (FI) --just exhaust and intake. The guy said 85 bucks to do 3 pulls. I'd like to do this but kinda of a noob and don't really know what's good or bad, I just want to see numbers on what my 8 is putting out. Any feedbacks would be greatly appreciated.

Tripoint has been around for a while. They were racing proteges at one point a few years back. Don't have any experience with them.

Thanks guys, it seems they are a reputable place of business. Now, how about the dyno portion? Is there something that I need to be aware of before placing it on a dyno?

TriPoint Engineering, is one of the best Mazda and Rotary Specialist in the country. They are proffesionals with a great reputation. There pricing is a little on the high-end, but worth it. Don't hesistate or be worried about taking your RX-8 to them for service or upgrades. I've known the owners since the early 80's.
At current, they run the Mazda Factory World Challenge MazdaSpeed6 Race Team.
Here is the website:

If worried, let Mark know that Berny from the So-Cal RX Club recommended them.

If you figure a mechanics' average shop rate is around $75/hr nowadays, then $85 for a bit of dyno time is nominal. No doubt their reputation is good. I had them rebuild my Turbo FC about 10 years ago, and it's still running.
