I don't think it's so bad, but I'm a tab bit upset that they put it on the galant platform. I guess they needed to do whatever possible to save money, but that is just too big for a sports car. I think if it were a tab bit smaller it could do well. I think with a nice bodykit you could make this car look pretty danged aggressive. To each their own I guess(hate that saying).

I have to say I like the rear but the front looks smashed or not fully developed.

 

It's a boat. I was driving next to one for about 3 or 4 miles on Tuesday. It was a white 4 cylinder version. Anything but the V6 version is a complete waste IMHO.

 

the V6 version is a complete waste IMO because for the same price, you can get way better cars, like 350Z or WRX for example. the 4 cylinders are much cheaper and for people who wants a sporty car at a budget price, its not bad.

 

The concept is hot. The production model looks like crap in pictures but I've seena couple on the street and they like much better in person. A huge improvement over the last version.

actually it weighs around 3600 pounds. hardly 3 tons.

 

the new eclipse is faster than i expected. Motor Trend tested the v6 at 14.2 in the quarter mile. i was expecting 14.5 so that was surprising. i kind of like it. the old Eclipses were ugly as hell. looks like they jumped into 350z class.

id like to see one on the street. theres a black one around here that barely beat my brother's 04 rx8.

Like Mugatu said, it is hardly 3 tons. 1 ton = 2000 lbs.
It does look kinda messed up though. Concept was hott. Although I have only seen the eclipse at the dealer lot.

Sure looks like 3 tons though its actuall 1.6 tons.

3600 pound still is kinda heavy for a sports car. (Unless you got a hemi ...)

 

Might be fast, but I can't imagine it hadling very well at all. I just see it being a total pig in the twisties.

 

I've driven one and wasn't that impressed. The power is good and could be modded to get some kick *** gains but doesn't have the look of my 8.

 

How's the handling, I'm interested to know what it's actually like.

 

It can take a curve pretty well, but I'd be scared to run that thing through curves the way I do my 8. Took one at the exact same speed as my 8 and heard the back end try to get away.

 

Hm, interesting. I'll have to try and swindle my way behind the wheel of one.

 

To me it looks like a cross between the newer cougars and the intrepid.
Not exactly my cup of tea.

Bring back the 2nd Generation Eclipse!

 

Drove next to a black one with a nice looking body kit, tried to keep up with me for a while, but couldn't. Car seemed like a pig during corners...stopped and chatted with the driver...end result: he said he "loved the look of my car" he did have the 263hp MIVEC engine though...did not sound too bad....

 

when i saw it in person it looked a lot better than photos, its not a fav pick of mine, but not bad. and it drives better than i thought it would

 

I feel the same way, it looks better in person, but it's just not something I can see myself driving. Not a huge fan, but it might do alright for Mitsubishi.

 

i just cant get over the ghetto booty.. the car as a whole is smaller than what i thought it would be but that butt is too big..
