The front end looks like the R8. But man, its too heavy for such a small car.

I think Audi did a much better job with the TT this time. It doesn't seem like a poser car a la Crossfire anymore.

The old design reminds me of a sneaker.

looks more like an ostrich egg to me- somewhat reminiscent of a porsche. but, the new design is nice. i just don't like the massive front, black grill. it reminds me of of george foreman grill...

I doubt it will weigh 3500lbs. They used a lot of aluminum this time around and brought the weight down from the original as well as making it larger and more weight pushed rearward. They are using the 2.0t and not the 3.5l for the S version. The fwd 2.0l T weighs 2850lbs. The awd 3.5l weighs 3100lbs. The S will weigh somewhere in that range. Will make an awesome car when it is released.

I'm more a fan of the older version but those numbers are impressive.

Even if Mazda was to do something with the 8, our 8s wouldn't have it and would therefore be lower on the mzda foodchain.

You aren't the only one. The old design is classic and much more unique than the new one. I also don't like what they have done with thier grills. Ptui!@!

My GF has a TT and, gee, I get to wash it (what we won't do for you know what). It is the easiest car I have ever washed. For some reason, because of the roundness of it, it is really easy to wash. I really like the TT but I could not drive it on a long trip. I am too tall and my right leg rests just on the wrong spot to be comfortable, but the car is fun to drive. The TT's windows are soooo small that it feels almost claustraphobic inside. But I like that.

She drove my 8 the other day and, gasp, she likes it better than her car. She liked the way it wound up. I like my 8 better too.

We've got a 2001 TT 225 Hi-Power in the stable. It's a fun little booger, and the new one should be better.

The new one looks really good in person. I saw a red one 3 or 4 months back on PCH.

I guess your talking about the TT? Those weight numbers dont sound right.

I have an '06 A4 2.0T Quattro and that (according to Audi) weighs 3660lbs. An A3 2.0T FWD weighs 3250. Could be I suppose but I cant see the TT giving up 300 or so pounds just because its a tad smaller.

Thats not to say it wont be awesome to drive. I drove a Dinan M5 once and that weighs about 4000lbs. It was incredible. BUT, I read a review on the euro only S3 which has the same beefed up 2.0T and it was criticized heavily for its turbo lag. In contrast, the standard 2.0T is silky smooth at any RPM.

The TT 3.2l AWD weighs 3428 lbs according to Edmunds.com

I once bought an old Audi 80 (not sure whether they sold them in the US) and if I remember correctly it weighed 1740 lbs. Granted it didn't have any cup-holders but it still had 5 seats.
