quick question. do you have uninsured motorist? if so you can file claim on that. just say it was parked, when you came back to your car, you notice somone had hit. not sure what the insurance laws is in your state but in texas its only 250 deductible.


as for the last comment. i just get a kick out of seeing ppl with Japanese Plates. Its like here in texas when the texasns would wear a Button down SHirt with a Texas Flag print. I know they love texas and they are from texas, but do you reallly need to wear a Flag Print Button down shirt to show the love. how any how good luck on your front nose. also if me, i would take off the efini badge off. its like a 350z with a GTR badge, just not right. but that is me. if you like, that is all that matters.

 

I would rather show people the damage to my bumper then leave it with ugly green paint all day at a CAR SHOW / MEET.

its cool. u guys can point and laugh all you want. i wasn't there to show off my car, so if it was ugly to you and somehow offended you, i'm sorry. i was there to meet other rotary enthusiasts. i'm sure lots of you take pride in how your cars look and that's awesome.

but for me i would rather not show cracks and huge visible primer spots. that is why i just left the tape on from my last track day a week prior.

@alfy. i am poor and i have shitty insurance. my deductible is about $1000 for hit and run. for that much, i can get a new MS bumper with my mazdaspeed member discount.

 

i mean everyone will have different point of views about that. Since we all drive Rx8 and live in Socal why not be friends and share our feeling of driving an rx8. i know sometimes when we see something is going wrong on the 8, instead of talking in a negative point of view, why not say something helpful or give some suggestions about that. I mean the Emblem and tape doesn't bother me anyways. This is just my 2 cents, welcome to flame me if i say something wrong.

back to the point of this thread. i have tape on my car whenever i go to the track.
i love my car. i love road racing. see you guys at the track, i'm at willow springs almost every other month.

I think quite a few of us have gone through the agony of having our vehicle damaged in some way; I know I have. Generally when that happens, we're pretty sensitive to the damage and it often takes a bit of time to fix it, during which we really wish it would just go away. I think the tape used in this situation was one person's way of trying to hide a blemish that we all would not wish on our cars.

 

haha this is probably true but i don't think most rx8 owners buy the car to race them. many just want a sexy car like the one we all share. that is cool. i just dont have the budget to fix/replace the bumper. it's more pleasing, to my eyes at least, to see the damage covered up on something i spent a fortune on.

Front end already needs to be repainted....lol 6 days before a car show with burned up Toyo's. Everybody's different.

 

I'm sure he is especially with all the added weight from his look at me stereo system.

But I keed...we don't use blue tape on our race cars, maybe some duct tape every once in a while to hold the bumpers on. But it is always fun ripping off a severely damaged bumper in the middle of a race!

 

boan, i think your 8 looks pimp. it sucks about the mazdaspeed front end.

also, maryland has a law about hit and runs. file a police report, and your deductible is $250 by state law. (doesnt matter what your deductible normally is.) and you even get a rental.

its not a look at me stereo system. its a simple bazooka tube that is readily able to remove when i need to. two screws and the whole sound system is gone!

California's hit and run law states that you need to get a separate hit and run rider if you want to get covered in the event it happens. If you don't purchase it, you're screwed in the event of a hit and run even if you have comprehensive.
