yes...it was purposely built for a short period of time. they were aiming to bring back the old school styling, hence the analog gauges and clock. aluminum chasis w/ a v8, plenty of power for a convertible. i don't think it was meant to blow the doors off of other cars. we have two Z8's that come in on a rare occasion. one is a silver manual and the other is a black alpina (auto.) both owner's are very wealthy and have other means of transportation. both of them haven't even reached their first oil change yet...but i guess that's why BMW built them and slapped that hefty price tag on it. why is the E66 760Li so expensive?? cause of what's inside. BMW's wannabe to the Maybach. not a car to drive, a car to be driven in.

Yeah, my local dealership had one. At first they were trying to sell it for way over list, but 6 months later it was still sitting in their show room. I was looking at it and had the salesman come up to me and ask me to make them an offer. The re-sale market for these cars aren't too strong. I remember C&D had a test where this went up against the 360 spyder & I think a DB7 or something like this. They liked the styling, but said the top wasn't very good, and didn't seal. 400 hp in todays world isn't much (has the M5 engine). You can get a SL 55 with 500 hp for around the same price (retail). Although I wouldn't mind buying a slightly used one on the cheap. They have aftermarket powerkits for it that will bring it us to 450 hp. That would be very nice.
