I do agree with your post though. And generally (notice I said generally, not all), young male drivers are going to be driving more aggressively and be more likely to try to race and such. Insurance is a good indicator of these statistics. Not saying this kid is specifically the case, but with that kinda car, it seems like the parents are taking a lot more than monetary risk. There's a difference between money and safety.
and maybe i'm just hating but i feel that it's more the lax attitude that is getting me and the fact he doesn't think he's immature but they obviously are. and that's no fault of their own; they're teenagers and all teens think they know everything and they aren't immature. of course years later we all find out that we were in fact immature and laugh at ourselves.
to give a kid this kind of toy after crashing the first is just bad parenting. and heaven help him to become a well adjusted person if he can just call on mommy and daddy to have him buy a new $150K car b/c he hit a taxi. somehow they feel that they deserve these type of cars somehow b/c mommy and daddy have a lot of money. i'm not saying he needs to get a beater but don't buy a lamob for the kid.

Hey everybody is on difrrent financial levels..... Maybe to his parents , buying a Gallardo is like middle class parents buying there kid a Civic SI.
A Gallardo in the luxury scheme of things is really not that all expensive or impressive when compared to a Buggatti Veryon or a Ferrari Enzo. Getting him one of those cars would be like parents in a middle class family buying there kid a Z-06 vette for there first car.
So yes the Galllardo, yet expensive and is alot of car to drive for a teenager, may not be so much of car compared to the hyper exotics out there for rich parents that want there kid to have the best but not over the top a.k.a Ferrari Enzo etc. in there world.

I zoom therefore I am.
My only issue with this thread is the OP. He doesn't own the car, he came here to try and gloat off of his buddies good fortune.
More power to the kid with parents that can afford to buy him multiple lambos.
A big giant "GFY" to the OP trying to get tranction off of his buddies very sweet ride.

Everything about this thread, OP, and topic screams troll. At best. At worst it's some punk **** rich kid who will enjoy the comforts most of us will never experience: crazy cars, big parties, bigger houses, anything money can buy (excluding any sense of moral compass) and the ability to get away with anything in life w/out any real concern for consequences.
Someone ask if they want to adopt a slighty burned out, well mannered 30something.

You can have lots of money and spoil your kids, obviously its what the OP's friends parents are doing. You can even buy them a really expensive car if you want to but buy them something that doesn't encourage a teenager to do stupid stuff.
For me it isn't about the Lambo its that you know the kid has a total air of "I deserve this" and that is the lesson his parents are imparting.
I'm sure I will be able to buy my child a new car when they come of age but I won't. It's not a question of money but responsibility. Show me you can handle and take care of a used car and then after that I will help you get a new one. When you do for yourself the reward feels all the more sweet.

I heard the Mclaren F1 was easy to drive as well, in matter of fact there is a video of Jermey Clarson test driving one and he was amazed how easy you can drive the car around the city or if you want to unleash the monster out at anytime ,press harder on the gas pedal.
So maybe his parents knew what they were doing when they brought him the gallardo. I know it hard for us to comprehend , but in there eyes maybe they e they viewed the Gallardo as a tame exotic car that is safe , say compared to a 911 Twin turbo which is not a forgiven supercar and can bite the best of drivers in the *** if the slightest mistake is made while driving it.
To me teenagers will wreck any car if there careless, i don't care if its a 50HP go-cart or a 1001HP Buggatti.

Evitnecni, no offence, but out of curiousity why the hell are you on rx8club?
I see you have 9 posts, NONE of them mention you have a rx8, just posting about some car that your "buddy" or "friend" has like the rx8, z06. gallardo, this lambo...
buy the way your buddy is a ******* idiot to wreck that beautiful machine. I don't care what car someone drives when they get their license, but RESPECT the car!

There is nothing wrong with getting your kid a 100K+ sports car if they deserve it. Key word is deserve, a perfect example is my buddy from NY. He got a Porsche for his 17th B-day. He deserved it though, 3.8 GPA, worked every summer at the company biz, and worked weekends during the winter, great work ethics. In this case he is not spoiled, spoiled would be like one of those kids you see on the at show "my sweet sixteen" (the wife watches it ) So before you all jump to conclusions that he is spoiled you may want to ask what he has done to deserve such a car. If he is a lazy kid with bad grades then all you say is true.

Eh. Every one has their point of view. A kid having a nicer car than me has no bearing on anything I do. I know nothing about him nor do I care anything about him.
It also does not earn my respect in itself, but that is not important either.
I have no idea why this post was started or why Evitnecni is even on this forum, but I now know that the Gallardo is available in white which is way cool. I love white sports cars.

You guys need to look at it this way, but understand that I do not think it is right to buy a HS kid a lambo, better yet a second one. (I'm in HS right now) Most parents that I have spoken to over the years always reiterate how either they had a less fortunate childhood or a comfortable childhood and they always wanted to give their children as much as they can AFFORD. Dont get me wrong, the parents should be watching what they and the kid should be doing to begin with, but I think its perfectly fine to buy a kid any car that is 1/2 the price of the mother and fathers car. This means, because I have heard of instances, that you shouldnt buy your child a nicer car than your wife, or vice versa.
Anyways, I have a long time to see what I am going to make for a living and how expensive my child is......

I was gonna mention it, but I didnt since it's not necessarily dangerous. Whoever said it's a tame car... it still does 0-60 in 3.8 seconds and tops out at 192. I'm not saying that no parent should spend that money on their child, but go for something a bit more safe for someone of that age. Though, admittedly I dont know how well a gallardo ranks for safety, but I can only imagine that you could get an equally nice car, that's a bit better suited for a high school student (as far as safety).

A kid can also deserve a lot of things, but is HE responsible with what he owns? Has he treated his previous possessions with care? Obviously not in this case.
It's funny what people bring up as far as 'assumptions'.

Soon enough it won't be a big deal when rich parents become so overzealous with giving their kids the best that they can afford, despite any issues of safety or consciousness. F-22 Raptors anyone?

It's a free county, if you're rich and want to buy an expensive toy for your son to destroy I say go for it.
As someone already pointed out in this thread most people in the world will never be able to afford an RX-8 no matter how hard they work. Everyone should be grateful for what they've got.

that goes beyond spoiling... and not in a good way.
