Buying new car out of state - advice seeking

Hey all, though I sold my Rx8, and havent been on here in a long while, i;ve always found this is the best place to get almost ANY question answered.

I am currently looking to get a CX9. I live in Ohio, and have an offer in Kentuckey (3 hrs away) that is significantly cheaper than any dealer in ohio. I have a couple of concerns though:
1. how does the taxes work
2. will they bait and switch
3. well, that is it.

For the tax I know i am responsible for the tax at the county i reside in, so I should only be paying tax with respect to where I live. From what the dealer tells me (which is reasonable enough), I buy the car for said price with stated Tax (at my local %), I pay the money to them, and their finance office will pay to the county I live in. I will then have to take my documentation of what I paid to the BMV, and when I register, I then show I already paid the tax, and that is that.

From what the local mazda dealer are telling me: 1, kentucky dealers are not allowed to take Ohio Taxes and vice versa. So I am afraid, that all said in done, I will still need to pay taxes... again. One way around this I Assume is to tell the dealer I will not pay the taxes to them, and will only pay the sale price. Not sure if that would work.

for #2 concern, I've been trying to get them to email me a break down of their offer. i.e. what selling price is, what actual tax will be, doc fee etc. They verbally told me the sale price and doc fee and reg fee, but for some reason keep side stepping emailing me this information. I could easily write it down myself, but I want proof that this is their offer. I dont want to get down there, and they will change the numbers on me. (dealer is 250mile away).
They keep trying to get me to put a deposit down now, but I refuse until they send me a break down of the cost. I know if i put a deposit down that will be non refundable.
They are not outright refusing to give me an email of the numbers, but i've emailed multiple times, and left VM requesting the #'s before I put any deposit down. They just call me back, and aske me to call them back. Again this makes me feel like they are not trying to lock themselves in at a certain cost. I looked up their reviews, and it does seem they try to sneak in other costs, but I guess all dealers do that.

Anyway, am I just being over paranoid here?

The Dealer is Oxmoor Mazda in Lousiville. Not sure if any of you have dealt with them, but they do "offer" one hell of a deal on cars. They do have some good reviews, but I dont know if I want to chance driving 3 some hrs or take a bus down 5 hrs just to have to come back home with nothing or a bad deal.
