one more reason I hate the direction this state has gone.
You have any idea how much wasted money goes into that project?! We already have full smog checks every 2 years...that isn't enough for our tree-hugging **** run government?!

they set these up so they can get MORE money
Cuz seriously I would say 1 car out of 10 will fail the test.
I saw these in NYC too, they usually pick small-mid size Vans, Sports car, and some old *** but not 25 years old yet cars (cuz after 25 yrs u dont need emission check)
Rofl, some ppl were screaming at that time. I was like wow, Government really needs money.

Huge hole is huge
Being from Missouri, I honestly can't tell what exactly is going on in those picture...Do they just randomly select someone and....do what? Hold a meter up to the tailpipe?

Wow, sucks to be a californian.
I was going to say that this is an outrage, but then I found out they do smog test every 2 years from this thread? I'm sorry, but if they do smog test already, why would you even risk modding the exhaust if you care about tickets and fines?
I mean, if i lived in Virginia, I wouldn't have a radar detector in my car. Some state laws are ridiculous, but I'd still follow it so I won't have to pay the ticket/go to court.
But for the people with the cash who thinks having modded parts is more important than tickets, I have all the admiration and envy for you.

Ugh...haven't seen one in NorCal. Hope they stay away from here. As if they don't have anything better to do than make life more miserable for everyone.

J03: this is the Governator's doing. I'm not trying to make this a political thread but he has gone on record about his wishes to make California the "greenest state" in the country because California must "lead the way"

I believe it's mostly okinawa that got really strict with it. I forgot the details but for a while they would pull a lot of sports cars and such over looking for modifications even if there was nothing observable from the exterior. Stuff as small as exhaust modifications would get them in trouble.

As far as the OP goes, on that street, would it be possible to park the car?
Most times when I see cops break a U-turn or just suspect something I pull over ASAP and hop out of the car.
