Car I couldnt identify

As the title says, there was a car I saw the other day with some friends which we just could not identify. Unfortunately we didnt have time to get a picture. It looked to have a somewhat similar shape to the mercedes slk coupe but a bit more curved (profile in the back). As far as I/we could tell, it was a little different. It had some symbol on the front and back but the mercedes badge is rather distinguishable and did not appear to be that. Unfortunately it was yesterday and at the moment that's all I can think of to describe it... any ideas would be great! (and no, I made sure it wasn't the illusive MS8)

it seemed a bit shorter in the front though. And the front nose was definitely different... could have been a body kit (I dont believe so seeing as it was an older lady driving, but I could be wrong). It just looked similar in shape to an slk, but to me, looked a decent amount different. Just remembered that there were fender vents on the sides... decently larger than those on our 8s. Almost sure it was not a mercedes.

was a nicer looking car.... so obviously not a pinto, pacer, ect. Still had larger fender vents than any of the cars listed so far and as I said, the front seemed shorter than the slk, and shorter than most the more reasonable guesses so far. Wasnt a crossfire... it actually looked decent.

Did it still have a rear deck/trunk or was it more hatch-like?

Wheel style? Mesh or spoke?

Dual exhaust tips or single?

Color?

How did it differ from this:

It could have been a custom body job on a common car...

As I said, it was basically 5-10 seconds that I was able to see it so I wasnt really able to get all the details. if it was a body job, it was one of the finest I've seen. The front nose looked more open than the one posted by JR. The thing I noticed most was the over all profile and the rather large vents on the side. I know for sure it wasnt a viper or nsx. It had a more rounded shape, and I dont really remember any sharp lines.

small edit: though it was only a short time I saw it, if I were to see it again or see a picture, I would definitely recognize it.
