Confirmed RX- 9 in winding road?

Just an artist's rendering, but it is god awful nice IMHO. Gotta have a 2-seat version. If Mazda makes something like this car with a turbo 16x, they will regain their FD reputation. But, then I'd be really satisfied with a 16x RX-8 since I'm just a family guy with 2 kids.

Exactly. That was my point. The tranny in the concept was a *7* speed dual clutch.

That is exactly what it turned out to be.
But, the big magazines were convinced that it was going to be the new RX-7.
In fact, none of the "spies" ever got a glimpse of the FD until less than a year before its actual release.

Recently picked up a mx-3 for $200! It was abandoned at my dad's shop because the owner didn't want to pay to get it repaired. Only 90k on the clock. So $300 later it's as good as new. Damn good car. Anyway!

It looks more like a G35 rear with the rx8 tweaked front. I'd agree with most dont call it a rx if there isn't a Rotary under the hood. don't get me wrong though its a badass looking concept though.

-German spy shots. Are they the real thing (what thing?) or was it only a mule? or a diversion on purpose seeing as how they posed so nice?
-published interviews w/mazda folk at different points & web published who hint at RX-8 continuing/7s that they would like to make.
-whatever gets on this very forum from those who intimate they know "something" but are sworn to secrecy. Didn't what they hear come from someone at/close to Mazda? Red Herring or Real Beef?

Looks amazing. I hope Mazda hasn't forgotten how to make actual road-going cars in lieu of outlandish concepts that go nowhere and have very questionable looks. This one is the first good looking one since the RX-8 concept. That's how we know it's a fake.

IMO there will be NO new RX anything if the 2009 RX-8 face lift does not "improve" sales as this car has to last at least another 4-5 years.
Until Hydrogen becomes more main stream the rotary may go into "hiatus" again.
You definitely will not see Two RX's competing for sales.
BOOHOO

The 1973-1975 929 in OZ was called the RX-4 12A and then 13B
1975-82 ish 121 and 121L (Landau) was the RX-5 13B
The larger bodied 929L 2.0L, Rotary version was JDM only, again the Cosmo.
Then the 929 2.0 litre with new engine design had no rotary only in JDM, that was
called the Cosmo (4 and 2 door pillar-less hardtop) with 13B turbo FI actually saw one in their front reception when I toured the Hiroshima factory.
Then the RX-7 series.
The larger bodied 929 Sedan and Hardtop V6 series until late 1991.
AFAIK there was never an RX-9.
