I like the previous gen A4 better, personally.

but...............S4 or bust man, A4 is about as average as they get. However I hear both do 0-Mechanic in 5.5 seconds.

What about Legacy GT? or Mazdaspeed6?

so thats about a 340-360 mile range which is better than the rx8

Volvo s60 2.5T AWD
again mpg isnt 30+ but its 26 mph highway, 18 city
but again. the tank is bigger being 18 gal. so thats 320 + mile range on a tank

Subaru Impreza (WRX model or not)
all AWD and the 2.5i gets 20/27 and has a 16.9 gal. tank
so thats 320 + miles to the tank as well at least

Dodge Caliber R/T AWD
21/24 mpg w/ a 13.5 gal. tank
so thats a range of under 300 miles there but its AWD

Ford Fusion V6 AWD
17/25 w/ a 17.5 gal. tank
thats 300 mile range to the tank

im tired of looking for more cars. haha
but theres plenty out there. all with alot of different options. if you want a good highway range then look more for highway MPG. i did the math for city MPG so these cars out on the highway will go alot further than 320 or so miles. You could even get a Suzuki Aerio (SX4) AWD if you wanted. that gets 30 mpg out on the highway
but its got a 11 gal tank. so thats still only 300 miles on the tank highway.

good luck
hope i kinda helped

You don't need AWD to drive in rain or snow.

AWD is over rated and all it alls you to do is not pay attention to the road.

I actually considered the Speed6, but I wasn't happy with the way it rode. I owned a 5 spd V6 6s, and loved it, but for some reason I didn't like the Speed6. A little too much turbo lag, boost didn't come on until 3k. The Audi's comes on around 1800. Could've gotten a HELL of a deal on the Speed6 too. Felt like I was driving my truck, but I guess that's what happens when you drive an 8 for a couple of years.

Thanks a lot Crztrtldck, I'll look at the Infinity and the Volvo as well as the Legacy. As far as the other two, you couldn't pay me to own them.

My brother has an A4. It's handsome and comfortable, but it's definitely no contender with the 8 on performance and fun.

can't believe we're comparing an 8 to an Audi A4.

I'm considering an A4 Titanium 2.0 for a daily driver this summer. But it's a little more than I would like to spend, and the VW/Audi mechanical problems are scaring me off a little (I know, I know, I own an RX-8...)

I am more leaning towards a Mazdaspeed6. Okay fuel economy, decently quick, handles, looks good, nice interior, turbocharged, All-wheel drive, and it's a Mazda (I'm biased towards Mazda's). Plus, they can be had pretty cheap, dealerships are looking to move them

Why not?

We compare it to everything else here. Then crap on the 8.

Chicken: go for the MS6, prices should get lower soon. Aren't they getting ready to release a new version?

I am seriously considering it, but I want a DD and the problem with the MS6 is the urge to modify. You know I'll have the urges to put a bigger turbo on there.....at least a catback and intake....and wheels/tires.....damn

I also checked prices on the MS6 and they keep dropping- dealerships trying to move them out. I don't know if a new version is coming out?

I also recently found out how spoiled we are with insurance rates on the 8. I checked coverage on the MS6 and for the exact same coverage I have on my 8 it will cost me literally 48% more per month to insure. I thought perhaps the MS6 was stupid expensive so I ran a 2002 Chevy Silveraldo 1500 4x4 reg cab with a V-6, and it was roughly 20% more to insure per month.

yeah, but you've got a killer turbo on the 8. I don't think you'll get TOO big of a mod buy with the MS.

DAMN, those insurance rates look scary.

I'd go w/ the Infinity if I were you. Good luxury car. The back seats are a lil cramp but The Trunk is bigger. About 2 times the RX8's.

My brother had the A4, then the A6, and now the RS8. Very nice cars but I still prefer my 8 over his RS8 ... respect though to the RS8!

I reccomend a Subaru Legacy GT spec B Same price range, much more performance and better reliability. It has basically the 2.5 STi engine and can make some serious power with a few boltons (250hp/250tq stock)

How about MB C class? I used to hate MB's because I thought they were over priced POS that only appeared expensive. That was until I caved in and bought my wife 07 MB C230. Though it's the "baby bentz", the ride feels so solid and luxurious that I can now comfortably say I'd prefer the ride of MB's over BMW's, which I owned a couple of those. 07's C230 comes with the AMG appearance package, so it also looks more appealing. If you need an AWD, there is C280. I'd go with MB's if you want the feel of sporty but luxurious ride. I love driving my 8, but when I am driving the C230, it just feels like I am driving a safe, luxurious and fun-to-drive car. Though the acceleration could be better, there is very little body roll and the seats are really, really comfortable. I had a surgery on my lower back, so I constantly need to change positions while I drive. When I drive the C230, there is no such discomfort. The firm but supportive seats are really awesome. I suggest that you test drive one before you commit to the A4. We looked at the A4's, 328's, Mini Cooper S's among others including the Saab 9.3 Aero. MB was definitely overall the best car.

I'd say go with the 08 C Class if you want the new look, which MB has lost its signature look to me. Or, if you want value, find a new 07's 4matic versions.

Friend's A4

My buddy at work just bought himself a tan Audi A4.

It's awsome
It's quick
It's sharp
It gets good mpg
It's a blast to drive
It's reliable
It's practical
And it becomes completely invisible to female eyes when my black Shinka parks next to it.

I guess it's all in the priorities.
