yeah, have you ever sat in a Crossfire? I sure wouldn't want to change lanes or back up in that thing - the blind spots are like walls in that car.
Not to mention absolutely no arm room to even sit comfortably. I don't care if it made 500hp, it's not worth it.
I wonder when people will stop calculating cars as a $$$ to horsepower ratio...that's not how it works.

I actually forgot what I wrote for my site. But it is still true. I will hardly ever forget that damn clutch --- and I am not the only one saying it. Australian journalist and American journalist said that too!

bubble is just some kid with nothing better to do.
look at is avatars for pete's sake, just trying to draw attention to him/her self
freedom of speech i guess.....
Back to the main point, I did look at a cross-fire before getting my 8. IMO it was nice, but crampish cabin and little/no cargo room for long trips. Driving it felt like I was riding in a old toboggin, fun but uncontrolled. Not my cup of tea.....

The trunk on the crossfire really does look like a mailbox.
I am still suprised at how roomy the trunk is on the RX-8, especially because it has the two full sized seats in the back to contend with. It's roughly 3-4x larger than my mustang convertable's trunk.

Momentum Keeps Me Going
Since the RX-8 and Crossfire are being compared here, and will be compared in buyers minds for multiple reasons - the only answer for the dis-functional Crossfire vs. the purebred RX-8 opinions lies in their respective genes or DNA.
- Crossfire is made by committee (actually two - Chrysler & MB)
- Crossfire is made quick w/available parts on hand to cut costs and time
- Crossfire's skin covers up what is the result of those 1st two events
- Crossfire will fade away next time a corporate design studio somewhere thinks up another ‘cute’ design of the moment.
in comparison
- RX-8 is made by sports car loving engineers
- RX-8 is made painstakingly.. slowly (years) of purpose built components and tested and revised until nearly perfect in their minds
- RX-8 is not just designed, but styled inside and out to be a beautiful, functional yet emotional car.
- RX-8 was built to BE the future of Mazda and the rotary . It is a very important car in their DNA history!
The results shown speak for themselves louder than almost any other car comparison IMO.

"I just arrived in the tennis court and as I parked my XFIRE beside an RX8, some players were then surrounding my car and were looking around it. I opened the door and let them have the feel of the inside and they are all amaze how beautiful the car is...especially with the illuminated doorsills on
Then all of the sudden, I saw the RX8 moved out from his parking lane and droved to a farther parking lot.
I said what the hecks wrong with that guy? Was he embarrassed with his RX8 parking beside a Crossfire? Well, I got the attention, he don't.....and I'm extremely very happy"
- I could read these comments all day and laugh!

My first post
Hey, I've been a long time reader and was deciding not to post until I get my 8 in June, but this post really pisses me off. Those Xfire drivers are bastards and don't know wtf they are talking about. Their boards really irk me. Argh, at least at the end of the day I won't be driving a Chrysler...
/end rant

That's what I said, when I first read the Crossfire boards I thought it was just like being on the RX-8 board, but they have less to brag about

You've clearly never driven an EVO Paulie
You are correct Ike. When I say chainsaw, and I don't that in a bad way, I base that upon the comments I've read about it which usually include "brutal acceleration, jarring ride, unrefined, a street race car" etc. My main point is I don't think the Evo and 8 are that close of a match to compare. The Evo and WRX, yes. Maybe this is better - a Swiss Army knife (8) to a scalpel (Evo).
:D

That TopGear guy...
...absolutely cracks me up!! He is incredibly brutal on the Crossfire...man, if the car was a person, he'd have given the poor thing a complex. Seeing how easy it is to get him not to like a car, it makes it sort of an accomplishment that our 8 was so favorably viewed by his eyes! :D
I don't know his name, but he is definately the Simon Cowell of the automotive press!!

Hahahaha, cas2themoe, you could be the biggest tool on the internet... First you punish us with all your stupid threads about you beating a Crossfire in your AT RX-8 (most of which were removed) and now I come across this will reading the Crossfire boards.
