Datsun 510 engine swap
my friend has a 510 and is going to put in a sr20det. he currently has a L16 and basicly needs info on how to ,parts needed ,etc... anyone know or where to get the info needed for the swap i have tried some 510 forums and google and didnt come up with anything ... thanks

Totally off topic (Almost) : 2 of the top people at Mazda's R&D center in Irvine have turbocharged 13b rotaries in their personal Datsun 510s. Way cool.

Probably the simplest option would be a carburated 13b. The 510 is pretty spacious, so fit isn't too hard. I've seen a lot bigger things shoved into them. Still, I don't think there is a kit for this swap, so be prepared to fabricate what's needed.

I know of a guy in Utah doing that swap, may try www.utahsr20s.com search there for info

so far ive seen that you have to reverse the front crossmember to give clearnce and get the drive shaft machined to fit trans to diff ...am i missing anything else ...ive found www.datsport.com
