Disobey Stop Sign Ticket? Missing VIN number

Well, I got a "disobey stop sign" traffic ticket few days ago. Im not going to brag but I really did stop, its just that the location was pretty "special" and the cop didnt see that I stopped. instead he said " rush thru" the stop sign.

Anyway I got this ticket,

He said something about

"I could've give you a ticket for 2 points and 275 dollar fine, but now Im giving you a summon, most would be 1 point and 100 something bucks fine, alright?"

I just said : "hmm ok"

I was looking at the ticket. everything was on my ticket but the VIN number is missing. Im just wondering isnt that required to be on the ticket too ?

Dunno about the VIN thing. How exactly does one "rush thru" a stop sign though? If he didn't see that you stopped, did he see that you didn't stop?

I said I did stop but he said he didnt see me stop instead he said I rush thru w/o stopping, what can I say ?

no offence but all cops are the same. so right now Im thinking, VIN should be on it too, if its missing I might be able to use it as excuse to get it off.

I don't think VIN would make a difference, if he wrote the actual license plate number down on the ticket.

Your only hope is wrong license number. VIN is irrelevant.

Im really sick of these kind of bullshit, I didnt do crap and all these **** just instead of getting some serious crime(theres mad burglary around my neighborhood), they just sit there and wait for people to run thru stop sign (I didnt do it, but they picked me, nothing to say)

I would leave this part out when pleading your case before the judge.

You're going to hire a lawyer for a Stop Sign ticket?! That's just stupid!

If the officer says he saw you "roll" through the stop sign, you're toast!
VIN is irrelevant in most states. If your ticket has the license plate number, that's all they'll need.

In my state if the cop forgets to write a little bit of info on a ticket or rights down any wrong info you can POSSIBLY get it thrown out. i.e. misspelled name, wrong date, etc. You can probably hire a lawyer and only end up getting a small fine.

In this part of the world, Conroe, Texas, municipal court judges are a little screwy to say the least. Some are very particular about tickets (citations) and might dismiss one for an error or something omitted.

i've seen non moving violations thrown out because of missing info .. but this doesnt seem to be significant enough

i guess you just spend a $100 bucks bud .. not too bad for a ticket .. around here it would be 105-125 plus 4hrs of school if you hadnt had anything else in prior 6 mos
