Dump the Crossfire!
Crossfire Roadster Could Wave Good-Bye
Chrysler is studying whether it will replace the slow-selling Crossfire convertible and coupe or simply drop the duo from its lineup, according to industry weekly Automotive News. The current Crossfires are built off the basic mechanicals of the previous edition of the Mercedes SLK, and have been on the market since 2003. The paper reports that Chrysler's contract to assemble the cars in Europe is nearing an end, and rather than replace it with a new car based on the new Mercedes-Benz SLK, Chrysler may instead decide to cancel the vehicle. The News adds that Chrysler may instead decide to produce the Firepower, a V8 concept that shares its platform with the Dodge Viper.
oh please build the Firepower instead of the stupid crossfire

The crossfire looked dated the second they released the car. They need to come out with the look of a firepower (without the ! at the end) but the pricing close to the crossfire. make it a v8 stick shift rwd mustang beater. That would sell

I've never seen so many people buy such a piece of **** like the 300C and throw so much money at it. It's the Honda Civic of Hip Hop.
Me: Wow Mr. Gangsta Rapper Guy that's a nice Chrysler.
Rapper: Thanks homay. I know you be liken' my overly huge stupid cartoon *** looking rims on it with the cubic zirconias in the spokes. They match my platinum fronts. :D Fiftay Geeeeee's a piece dawg.
Me: Yeah, uh that's nice. Way to "Ice Up" a ******* turd.

The 300 is a nice car. It's also one hell of a value for the money. Yeah, it tries to look more expensive than it is, but you can't deny the value.
Or I suppose I could be wrong, along with every other automobile magazine that reviewed it in the last 2 years.
Lastly, "those who live in glass houses...". I mean 3rd gen Eclipse?
To each his own...

no Viper sibling! it's not as though the Viper is a huge profit maker. The Dodge Slingshot concept would be nice. And it would allow them to get into the roadster market with GM.
I'd consider it.
I'd consider it.

Anyway, I like the Dodge Razor Concept better than the Sling Shot. The sling shot was slow as hell. Razor has 250 hp, 230 lb-ft and RWD in somehting that weighs 2500 lbs. They predicted the cost at 15K american!!!! of course it was barebones, but that's cool with me!

The Razor's just another retro throwback (and it's ugly), but I guess that'd be more profitable these days, and would probably fit their current lineup better.

Anyway, it's not a concept car flame war. It a "I drive a terribly stupid car, but make fun of other peoples car" war.

I like the Crossfire's coachwork. Art-deco / Art Moderne turns my crank.
#1 reason why I dismissed it from my very short list of cars to drive when my Miata got busted up: Stupid recirc-ball steering. That's a dealbreaker for me, and the only car I'll put up with having that is the 1-st gen Rx-7, mainly cause I love that car. :D
If they'd given the Crossfire a proper steering rack, lost about 300 pounds, sharpened up the steering / suspension feel and given it a mazda / honda caliber shifter, it woulda been a contender.
As it is, it's a german-built american car in the ancient idiom. The only thing missing's a solid rear axle.
As for the Razorback, I like it. I'm a sucker for small roadsters. But someone should politely remind the stylists, swooping, flowing curves (the rear 2/3rds of the Razorback) and sharp angular hard lines of the front 1/3rd kinda make the car look like a mess.
Pick one. All flowing curves (Ferrari, old Miata, FD RX7), or all sharp angles (Renault Megane, Rx-8). But don't use both at once. (where's the vomit smilie?!)
But, being an american car, I can pretty much guarantee the Razorback will wind up being overweight and with dull steering and suspension. A wannabe-lexus instead of a wannabe-mazda / lotus.
