It's all about the source of your information. Saturn has a good point - the numbers provided for "pollution" and the increase in cost & pollution tend to include the cost of converting to "cleaner" methods. This type of argument is a pretty typical favorite of those who stand to bear the cost of conversion. I'm sure every company that was involved in building coal engines cited how "expensive" it would be to switch to petro products.
Global warming is happening. There is no way to agrue against it. If the avg. temp is higher this year than the previous year, and same for the year b4 that, it's getting warmer. The conclusion that "we" are causing that is BS. Do we make it worse? Probably. Can we stop making it worse? Sure, but I really like my 8, and frankly don't have any interest in growing/killing my own food.
Stealth is right. "It is a natural cycle, and trying to stop or reverse it will be about as succesful as forbidding the tide from coming in."
- and RG. Eventually the planet will consume us and proceed with a global "do over".
Until then, I'll be the a-hole (or one of 'em, anyway) chewingup corners in my gas guzzling fun machine.

I'll snap his neck.
I think we should harness the power of my personal flatuence - it is in abundent supply (renewable in fact), there is no stopping it, and it is going to be there whether we use it or not. After eating onion rings I would guess that the energy potential of one of my farts could be measured in gigawats.

It would take every ounce of self control I could summon for me not to punch that guys head off his neck. I would bet 100whp that the effeminate baldy has spent his entire adult life within the comfy walls of academia. First he got the degree. Then he went on to teach theories and opinions he'd never seen applied in the real world. I can't stand people like that. I'm all for keeping the air clean and the hillsides green but if you feel so damn passionate about the environment take a trip to China or India. Protesting against U.S. corporations for environmental offenses takes about as much ***** as a street fight with a blue-haired WW2 widow.

Didn't you guys know that dinosaur flatulence ended an earlier ice age by heating the atmostphere through methane emissions and that's what actually killed them off? Come on man, study!
