Bottom line,
I sold my Turbo Miata to get me the RX8... The thing is that I didn't have to sell it but it was hard to justify 2 weekend cars...
In a nutshell: I REGREAT SELLING IT!!!
Don't take me wrong... The RX8 is a nice car but somehow it doesn't have the "drive" of my previous Miata... Granted my Miata was fully built I did everything myself... suspension, tranny, rollbar, brakes, FM ECU and turbo.... Miss that turbo ~ 205 RWHP!!.. blah blah blah... The new owner came over last week, he loves it, and I was suffering seeing my baby again...
The 8 is nice since I am able to take my kids with me... and I look forward to driving it all the time... but but... somehow it doesn't have the soul my old Miata did... I feel myself wishing I was driving the Miata instead...
Did you guys ever feel that? I'll give the 8 another year to grow on me and if not satisfied, I'll think I'll end up selling it... getting me a used Miata again and a better commuter...
Oh well.. you always learn...

Oil Injection
I sold my miata, at one point i had a diy turbo setup, kept upping the boost and eventualy she had enough and blew, at the time it was my only car so I decied to rebuild, but stick NA, sold the parts I could, got another motor and did simple intake, header, exhaust. Along with timing. The car was already striped down to save weight, it was curb 2100 with me (1999 Miata) It was a base package with LSD. 5spd.
I loved that little car, full groundcontrol suspension, sways, tie bars, all kinds of bracing, 4pt roll bar, race seats, all syn fluids, CF hood, lowered on 15x8 in 14lb Konigs, with Falken rubber. all poly bushings. the car was an absolute blast to drive! i miss it everyday.
i didnt want to sell it but I had to since I need a 4 seater car now, and the car was getting less usable on the (bumpy) streets of orlando with every other mod. The car was an absolute beast on a road course and autox track. I sold it (9500...way more than I thought I would get, 85K miles, 1999 with a 1999 motor with 60k miles...ran perfectly) I used the cash as a big downpayment on the rx8.
I love the rx8, it does feel like a big miata, and I know when I have it modifyed it will handle similarly to my old miata, but nothing else ive ever driven (i valet cars as a 2nd job) has ever come close to the feeling of flying down a back road at night, taking each turn on the limit, with the top down, and the cool, wet night air on your face!
