Can you check around for a repair shop?

I just use the jack from the car, then I use the floor jack once it is high enough.

This method is free!

I can't give the name brand (if it really matters to you, I will look when I get home and update) but I bought a 1-ton mini-floor jack specifically designed for "lowered imports" that should be available at most auto parts stores. I paid about $20-30 for it.

As for the jack included with the car, I used this method on a previous car and it worked great about the first 5-10 times, but then it started siezing up. Those are not meant for repeated use.

I have one of those $149 alum fake race jacks. it works great! much better then the 400 pound steel jack I have. Alum jack is also very nice to take to the track. lugging around that 400 pound jack would suck.

I used to only use the alum jack on the race car, and the steel jack on the RX-8 untill I lowered my 8 and the steel jack no longer fits. now I use only the alum jack. has not given me any problems. I have had it for about 2 maybe 3 years now.
