i know..but hey..i'm not complaining.

she did say that if i got the insurance for the car before they updated it..it would be locked in at that rate.. as in...if i wait til they find out how expensive it is and what it costs..it will change. hope that is what the rate ends up bein..or at least close..but ur right..makes no freakin sense.. :D

Nobody's wrapped one around a telephone pole, yet. I guess they don't base rates solely on horsepower to weight ratios.

I was thinking about buying a C06 but.............

You have to think. Does the car fit you? Is it comfortable for you?

I chose the 8.

Now they got the Z06....... Damn

Kinda hard to walk away from that one.

i would trade my right nu..... oh wait

I'm wondering if Chevy will have problems selling a $70K Vette. I mean we all saw how long the ZR1 lasted even though it was a legendary Vette. I'd say @$70K it's still a bargain but that price really puts it out of reach for a lot of people.

1. Most people that own it are in their 40s and up.
2. Those people that own it rarely speed, get tickets and get in accidents.

When I got the quote from him for the C6, it was cheaper than my insurance for the RX8, Evo and my wife's Mercedes. Too bad I wasn't impressed by the C6 when I test drove it or else I might be driving one right now.

yeah last I heard it'll be closer to 70K, which makes sense considering how many of the regular C6s are in the high 50s low 60s

What didn't impress you? I'm just curious.

... and if you tell me the acceleration, I'm going to go cry. :D

I don't see the appeal of the C6 Z06, really. Being able to go from Zero to "I squished myself under the back of a semi" in two seconds doesn't appeal to me. I mean seriously, I would think having that much power on tap is more liability than fun.

Drive one, you'll understand. It just simply puts a smile on your face when a car can throw you back in the seat.

Yeah, but a "plain old" C6 will do that easily :p. Unless your going to track the car, I don't see the point of buying the Z06, very rarely are you going to get to take it beyond the limits of the regular C6. (imo) But my tune might change if I could afford one :D

Well we really only need a 90HP 3cyl Geo if we aren't going to the track

The analogy w/computer technology fits well, the faster the better.... and then once you get that, you want more... a terrible addiction

I've been in - but not driven - cars that threw me back into the seat before.

I understand the appeal of something that goes faster. But I would only buy something I was going to use as a commuter car. I could see myself commuting (in dry weather) in a Corvette, a 911, an M5, an XLR-V, or an E55 if I had the money.

But once we get to the Viper, the C6 Z06, the Ford GT, the F430, the 911 turbo... I would think handling that much power in daily traffic would get tedious, maybe even dangerous after a while.

it's not just the performance of it..(which stomps alot of exotics 3 times the price)...it's that it's a really neat car to put it mildly...carbon fiber fenders! titanium engine components! 10 inch rear wheels! 6.5lb to 1 horsepower! (approx) the heads-up display! (hey..i'm a pilot..i love that crap) and countless other stuff that has nothing to do with performance... i've always wanted a corvette..this is my time..i'm still young! (26 in july) it's better to see me in the car havin a little fun with it than some 50 yr old that just drives it on sundays isn't it???

You're sitting here blabbing about getting a new Z06 while I just burned $250 to buy Shelley a new car, plus I'm super-broke? I hate you.

There is a local guy who has a sweet 2nd gen RX-7 with an LT-1 in it and a corresponding vette manual tranny, he claims it only weighs about 55 lbs more with the LT-1 plus he removed the AC and some other stuff. It looks really really nice and he claims it runs high 12s. He had some custom RX-7 LT-1 badges on it. I have traditionally not been a big fan of piston conversions in RX cars but when I saw this one, it was so sweet and there was plenty of room in there for this motor, in fact it looked like it took up less space than the wankel.
