but seriously..they want 3k over msrp no matter what dealership you go to.. and that's without knowing the msrp price. the estimates are around 60-75k though... what do you guys think? should i get it for 3k over..or wait and pray to god there's one left with the options and color i'd want (not very likely)??

I was thinking about buying a C06 but.............
You have to think. Does the car fit you? Is it comfortable for you?
I chose the 8.
Now they got the Z06....... Damn
Kinda hard to walk away from that one.

i would trade my right nu..... oh wait
I'm wondering if Chevy will have problems selling a $70K Vette. I mean we all saw how long the ZR1 lasted even though it was a legendary Vette. I'd say @$70K it's still a bargain but that price really puts it out of reach for a lot of people.

When I got the quote from him for the C6, it was cheaper than my insurance for the RX8, Evo and my wife's Mercedes. Too bad I wasn't impressed by the C6 when I test drove it or else I might be driving one right now.

... and if you tell me the acceleration, I'm going to go cry. :D
I don't see the appeal of the C6 Z06, really. Being able to go from Zero to "I squished myself under the back of a semi" in two seconds doesn't appeal to me. I mean seriously, I would think having that much power on tap is more liability than fun.

The analogy w/computer technology fits well, the faster the better.... and then once you get that, you want more... a terrible addiction

I've been in - but not driven - cars that threw me back into the seat before.
I understand the appeal of something that goes faster. But I would only buy something I was going to use as a commuter car. I could see myself commuting (in dry weather) in a Corvette, a 911, an M5, an XLR-V, or an E55 if I had the money.
But once we get to the Viper, the C6 Z06, the Ford GT, the F430, the 911 turbo... I would think handling that much power in daily traffic would get tedious, maybe even dangerous after a while.

it's not just the performance of it..(which stomps alot of exotics 3 times the price)...it's that it's a really neat car to put it mildly...carbon fiber fenders! titanium engine components! 10 inch rear wheels! 6.5lb to 1 horsepower! (approx) the heads-up display! (hey..i'm a pilot..i love that crap) and countless other stuff that has nothing to do with performance... i've always wanted a corvette..this is my time..i'm still young! (26 in july) it's better to see me in the car havin a little fun with it than some 50 yr old that just drives it on sundays isn't it???

There is a local guy who has a sweet 2nd gen RX-7 with an LT-1 in it and a corresponding vette manual tranny, he claims it only weighs about 55 lbs more with the LT-1 plus he removed the AC and some other stuff. It looks really really nice and he claims it runs high 12s. He had some custom RX-7 LT-1 badges on it. I have traditionally not been a big fan of piston conversions in RX cars but when I saw this one, it was so sweet and there was plenty of room in there for this motor, in fact it looked like it took up less space than the wankel.
