Got an 06 STI to keep the RX-8 company (pics)

Hey -

Got an 06 STI last Saturday. Here are the pics:

Showroom cameraphone shot with stock gold BBS rims and Potenzas (sorry so blurry...):

Pics of the STI with ASA rims and Blizzak LM-25 snow tires:

...and here's a shot of my RX-8:

Thanks, thanks, and thanks! I'm looking forward to getting the STI broken in so I can push it a bit. The straight-line and turn-exit power at even half throttle, below 4K RPMs, is amazing.

Yeah same here, that would be an awesome combo. Congrats on the purchase!

Heh. The truly classic thing is that by trading in my CL and getting the STI, I actually lowered my monthly payments. A lot.

I cleaned her up today - here are some more pics.

It's actually closer than it looks! Despite knowing that lots of STIs are running these rims, boy was it tight.

FYI, I got those rims for $99 apiece at Tire Rack. I think they'll fit the RX-8. They are 17" x 7.5 ASA JH3 rims:

No, I'm not, but I'll definitely check it out. I've been spending time on iwsti.com and a little bit at naisoc.com. Thanks!

Very nice man. I have those rims on my 04 for winter driving. I did the same thing you did, only I did it back in 2004. Then I replaced the RX8 with an S2k, but you cannot go wrong with owning each of these cars. One gives you what the other lacks, and they compliment each other well. I certainly wouldn't mind owning an 06 STI. The car keeps getting better. Enjoy!!

Ah, the great S2000... had I ever been able to get away with only two seats (we have an 8-year old), I definitely would have had one.

Thanks!

Thanks. I've now got my rotation squared away - 3 year leases about a year-and-a-half apart, meaning I get a new ride about every 18 months.
