Got new wheels for my Solstice
So I finally managed to get my new wheels mounted today. I bought them back in November for $800 [at that time, they were $425 a peice new on Tirerack] slightly used [new in box, never driven on]. They are SSR Type-C RS in gunmetal in 18x8, and only weigh 18.4lbs each. Using the oem tires that came with the car, Goodyear Eagle F1 GS2 in 245/45/18. Tell me what you think. Don't mind the wheel gap, it's at stock height.

If you can you should lower it. I think It will add a lot!
And possibly next time you get new tires get one that is a little lower profile.
But They look great! And you can't pass those up at a price like that!

Looks great. I would just remove the center caps all together. Obviously a nice drop will do wonders. Do it with coilovers however. Simply swapping out the springs will be leave you frustrated.
BTW...is this the turbo version?

I saw a lowered coupe the other day and it looked damn good. I thought it was a BMW at first. I didn't know Pontiac even released a hardtop coupe trim. Looked a little like this except it had polished mesh wheels...

Are you kidding?
I don't particularly care for the styling of the Solstice roadster, but the coupe looks bad ***.
To the OP, the wheels look okay... if you're going to swing to the minimalist look, I agree with everybody else. Nuke the chrome and bling at all costs. The the wheels will pop.

I can't say that's my favorite wheel design ever - I think the curve in at the top of the spokes makes them look really small - but if they're dropping weight at the corners, then I'm all for it! Doesn't hurt that you got them for basically half off. I'd say the deal gets a thumbs up in my book.
