Got a WRX!

The WRX TR is Subie's attempt at undercutting a base Evo, and it's a poor excuse for a WRX. There are virtually NO simularities between the suspension or brakes on the TR as on the STi. Not even close... Perhaps 225 sounds great for horsepower, but I think I'd take it in my lightly modded RX-8 any time he'd like to try on the track.
The are comfortable and semi-racy looking, for people who want something comfortable and racier looking than the base WRX. That's the only reason for its existence.
Funny that Ike should be posting about the "corporate nose" being canned after only 2 production years. That's 1 year too late, IMHO.

And to add to what Ike said about the WRX vs. STi vs. Evo thing here in the USDM, the latest rumors out of Mitsubishi is they will be bringing a Lancer platform to market in 2008 that will specifically target the WRX. It will supposedly have AWD and a turbo charged 4G63. The best guess at this point is that it will wear a "Ralliart" badge and be priced around $25k. I think things are looking up for the tuner market. If only Mazda would put that 2.3L turbo in the RX-8 and call it the Mazdaspeed8. It would haul ***. In fact it could really be a modern version of the S13/14/15.
