HAINAN-MAZDA S1 Chinese Sports car concept
Does anyone else know or heard anything about this?

From my viewpoint it's not a Kabura ... but it's just slightly better looking than the current Pontiac g6 coupe ...

I haven't heard anything, but I like it. It does look a lot like a mix of many entry level sporty coupes (tC, Tiburon, G6, Accord) with a little G35 roofline and Solara headlights. However, I like the overall design of this car better. I would like to see the interior and know what's under the hood.

Ya, if it is the new Chinese car, they are gonna be cheap. Super cheap for what they are. I know I am not going to be the first to get one.(reliability is not known yet) But it is slated to hit the U.S. market within 3 years. Of course, I work for toyota, and this is just what I hear from my execs. Suppose to be around $12k with a little 4 banger that gets 30+mpg.
Edit - after looking at that picture, that one will be more $$$. The plain jane model looks pretty boring, kinda like a civic. That one looks like it has a few extra goodies on it.

幹他媽!
It looks like an Acura RSX in the front and a G35 in the very back... Chinese car manufacturers are notorious for blatantly pirating designs because the gov't there doesn't really care about intellectual property rights- ie if it's reverse engineerable, then it's free game...

That back end could also look like a Solara.
It looks like it's photochopped due to copy right infringments.
So who's first to jump on the band wagon to buy a Chinese car?

There are 5 companies coming out with cars. They figure only 2 will make it. I am not too familiar with them all . . . . but we do get told about them so we can be ready for it when it comes. Something about a communist country making a car that can/may KILL the rest of the market. Hopefully they will be greedy and keep prices up higher.
I HOPE it will be a mazda. It looks fairly nice, and mazda has a good reputation. (Notice I didnt say great rep)

This is all I could find. I was curious too, so I did a google search.
Ford also has indirectly invested in China through Mazda, which is 33.3 percent owned by Ford. Mazda has been outsourcing production of its Mazda Premacy at First Auto Works Hainan Motor Company since June 2001 and the Mazda 323 in July 2002 (Japan Economic Newswire, 2002).

That picture is photochopped. Look that the first pic... it has the RX-8 side vents on the passenger front 1/4 panel and the next shot of the other side there is not vent. Also look at the exhaust tips, they are not proportionate to the rear of the car. Also look at the lower rear bumper cover, it has the rear rotary lamp and shape of an RX-8 rear bumper.
The front reminds me of a Hon-DUH Accord and the rear looks like its styled after a Dodge Intrepid!
BLAH!

HUM... when i showed those photos to a guy at Mazda, he said he didn't even know about the Mazda-Hainan relationship, as it must be a Japanese-Chinese agreement, not involving MNAO... He did say those photos scared him....
