HELP :[ Swapping for a Genesis Coupe
![](http://i43.tinypic.com/2uhsg43.jpg)
I'm having a wee bit of a crisis right now. I've been pondering the thought of a new car for a while now ever since things have been going wrong with my RX-8. It's just going to be a lot of money to repair then add the ridiculous gas consumption to that. I found out a few days ago that I could lease a Hyundai Genesis Coupe 2.0T for around the same price I'm paying monthly now. I drove to the dealership and ended up leaving my car there to take the Genesis home for a couple days and test it out. Now I have to decide by tomorrow morning if I'm really ready to get rid of my 8. I love the thing. She's been great. Drives like a dream, but costs a lot to maintain. The Genesis is ok. It looks nice, but feels nowhere near the same as my other car. I need some suggestions to push me one way or the other. I just can't make up my mind.

Honestly? Go with whichever car makes you happier.
That's what I tell everyone. To me personally, I wouldn't settle for a car that doesn't entirely put a smile on my face. Even if it costs more, I'd rather be able to be happy about it. I wouldn't dare spend money on something that didn't do that for me.

I agreed with what the others have said o'ready. It your car and you're the one driven ti and maintaining it.
I my self can't complain about the maintaining. I don't know if its just me but I have not have any problems at all. The one time my check engine came on, I took it to the dealer and a week later a got a new engine. I don't have a heavy foot ( maybe thats why) But I do have her but a smile on my face every now and then. She only has 62000 miles and it's not my daily driver ( maybe thats why too) will see what happens now that my wife is going to driver her more, since my daughter is complaining to mom about sharing her car with mom any more. it's not like she pay for it( she's 17 years old) but I know she is looking for more freedom. That's a different topic.
Back on track;
I would wait for the BRZ and the FR-S to come out! I think they may feel more like the Rx8!
Wich you luck on your decision! Let us know what you do and later on if you regret it or not!

It's funny because sometimes I feel so conflicted about things.. and almost want someone to make the decision for me.. but in the end you really have to decide for youself to be the most happy..

I think I'm just going to sell the 8 and get the Genesis. I may be hesitant about it now, but there's a reason that I've been looking at new cars all this time. It's really gonna suck to see her go though.

Since you want opinions, here's mine. The Genesis doesn't really cut it - for me. There's something about the design that I don't really like. It just looks cheap to me. The 8 always looks like a more exotic, more expensive car. Well, I actually like the fact that the Genesis comes with two engine options. Wish Mazda would have done something like that with the RX-8 - a N/A and turbo charged version.
But based on looks alone, I wouldn't trade my 8 for one of those. Plus I assume the ride is not nearly as nice as the 8. But most other cars I've driven aren't anyway

I drove the top of the line genesis coupe and it was fun. I believe the one I drive was a v6 and not the 4cyl they also come in. Had tons of fun with it plus I've seen a few modified ones they look extremely nice. I'd say if you have the opportunity to jump into something newer and pay the same then do it. Hyundai has the best warranty in the car biz right now you can't go wrong. I'd love to not have to worry about stuff with a 10 year 100k! Get the coupe
