Help Deciding: 08 STI vs 370Z
#128
If you have any mods on your X, you will think the Z is slower. Once you go AWD, you never go back!

i personally would most likely choose the subbie, i love the styling and *different* factor
that said, the 370z may be more fun to own, +1312312 it comes down to practicality and what you value most.
Test drive the z, reevaluate opinion, choose which tickles your fancy more

I like the STI without the rear spoiler, dropped, with some nice wheels, and de-badged.

well its not an STI that i have, its a WRX but i just ran my first dynolicious 1/4mile and lets just say from a 2500rpm launch (so not even that hard):
0-60 5.2s
1/4mi in 13.6s at 102
and an estimated WHP of 222 (which isnt bad with a crank of 265).
now imagine that from an STI start point...choice made id say.

You went from an AWD people moving sedan to a RWD purpose-built sports car and then to a RWD Roadster. I know you were rebutting a blanket statement but I think even you'd admit that an AWD Miata would be far more tossable than a RWD Impreza. It should be a platform comparison, not a drivetrain comparison if we're being forced to compare the merits of your last three cars. I prefer RWD too on certain track configurations but there is zero drivetrain correalation between "I'm driving the car" vs "the car driving me". There are so many more factors outside of drivetrain configuration that contribute to feedback and overall feel. However if your old WRX handled anything like my LGT wagon then I can understand what would make you say that. Subaru has a way of tuning the OEM suspension for park rangers and biology proffesors.

Both are great cars, each delivers great performance for the money.
It's got to be decided on the preference of each car's drive feel, and I guess a test drive would solve that problem most unbiasedly, right?
