Angry "Help me... I'm spoiled"

I love cars and bikes but I truely love performance. Im so dissapointed with auto manufacturars nowdays. Why cant they produce something that is beautiful, fast, and affordable. Motorcycle companies have been doing it for years. My r1 has all of these qualities. It is great to look at, inexpensive, and fast as hell. I am spoiled from it. I cant understand why car companies cant engineer a car that does this. I like the looks and handeling of the 8 but I am so dissapointed with its power. I like the new z06 but the price is way to much. The r1 is 10 grand new... it gets 42 mpg does a 10 second quarter mile. top speed of 190mph with formula 1 appearence. its reliable too. I have been searching for a new car but cant find a thing. I dont want to spend more than 40k wich is 4 times the bike. but everything is slow. my bike has as much hp as my car. (how sad is that) The new ford GT has similar performance to my r1 but 200,000 dollars is way to much money to spend and my bike will still spank it. Make it light, make it fast, give it 4 wheels, some attractive styling, and an affordable price tag(30-40k) How hard is that? I dont think I am asking to much here... There is a market for cars like this.. we are all here because of it. (arent we?) maybe someone can suggest something... I think I need like a 1000 hp 2000lb(or 500 hp 1000lb) car to match my 200 hp 400lb bike. I might have to just start building my own car from scratch...

It doesnt really have anthing to do with power and what not. The main issue is weight. Lighter cars need less power to go fast, and get better fuel economy. Also, smaller, lighter cars have less materials (or more expensive one ie carbon fiber) and can potentially cost less. What you want is a light car.

get a turbocharged 962R and install bigger tires and a different body kit so it can be street legal.

http://www.diasio.com/

Though it'll still cost you north of 70k.

If you think you can make a true supercar for 40k, let me know when you're done and I might buy one.

The big 4 honda, kawasaki, yamaha, and suzuki...use the trickle down method for performance. Our street bikes are engineered from moto gp technology. the moto gp bikes are worth millions of dollars and have hundreds of millions worth of engineering (cutting edge motorcycle technology). These companies go by the old saying "win on sunday and sell on monday" moto gp m1 is to my r1, like an f1 car is to ?... Auto manufacturers could offer a watered down version of an f1 car for under 50k! The technology already exists they just have to apply it. Motorcycle companies sell all types of bikes. From the comfy and smooth goldwing to a fuel economical scooter to a pure race machine(my r1). Why cant automotive companies make the pure race machine?

Back in the 70's that was true with the AutoMaker what with the Horse Power Wars and all. Sadly once the oil crisis hit and Congress stepped in that moto and trickle down effect well got turned off for the most part.
Only now are we slowly starting to see the trickle down effect being turned back on. Factory's are now fully sponsoring race teams and putting their own development teams on improving the race cars. To me the only way to reap some money back is by putting the items/research to use on the production cars somewhere down the line.

Oh also on the affordable part of things, blame the Unions and CEO's for wanting bigger paychecks. The one thing I always remember when watching any muscle car show is how they mention "A teenager in highschool could roll into a dealer and walk out with close to 400hp" meaning they were afforable to a kid with a part time job. And I dont care to hear the excuse of "We'll our muscle cars are the civic si and the ilk.." b.s. the big 3 if you will could and should pump out some hp type cars to bitch smack the japanese automakers. Imagine being able to walk into a dealer a few years from now and tell the dealer "I want the Challenger base model with the Hemi, radio delete, and a/c delete for 25k" how pissa would that be!?!? Would never happen but I can dream damnit I can dream!

My friend, I have the answer...

http://www.arielatom.com/

I think it's a pretty car in an F1 kind of way, and on Top Gear it went around a track faster than a bike. Should cost you around the price of a Vette, I believe.

Get an e30 m3 do some mods. Light, nimble, reliable, trackable and it’s value will only go up in the long run.

New cars reflect the needs of the mostly ignorant North American public.
Even our 8 is relatively unconventional with the kind of values emphasized by the car. And even with our car most people don’t get it all they keep talking about is ¼ mile times and hp.

Dude you have got to be kidding. You cannot compare a R1 motorcycle to a car. Go buy a Atom as some people have said. If performance is all you care about go buy a 1G or 2G DSM for about 8 grand gut it, then take the rest of your 32 grand and mod the hell out of it with all the money you have left.

For a newer car about the only thing you're going to get that can be a bike killer and still handle really well is an Evo (modded obviously).

P.S. You are asking for too much. If what you want in a car was possible it would be on the roads already.

FI S2000s aren't anywhere near sportbike fast and you're not going to find one for 14k.

Hmm - to get the HP/wgt ratio of a nice sport bike you only need 900+ hp. Bikes have a significant advantage over a car in the weight department - safety. Sport bike with Airbags? Sport bike with crumple zones? Whats the side impact rating of a sport bike? Chopped meat? It's just apples and oranges at that point. The design of a sport bike is fairly single-minded. The design of a car is not. If one could build a "sport bike" street legal car for $40k - who would buy it other than yourself? Especially when you could go straight for the sport bike and save $30k.

Agreed, the reason no car manufacturers make cars like that is they don't sell. It doesn't make financial sense when you will only sell 1 or 2. You asking for a Mclaren or Koniggsegg for under 50K and that isn't going to happen. There is a reason supercars are expensive as all hell.
