wow. way to look past the obvious.
obviously the 2 of you have different bodies. headroom issues are all torso length related. the longer your torso, the higher your head will be, regardless of total body length. people can be all legs or all torso, or any mix of the two.

I have looked the web for any reasonably inexpensive fixes for lowering the seat but to no avail.

Something fishy here...
rx8 head room: 970mm
ap1 s2000 head room: 879mm
Sure I have the moon roof or whatever, but that would have to account for at least 5 inches for this to make sense. I doubt it accounts for more than 1 inch.

you have seen the spec for the rx8 without a sunroof. the sunroof eats up a few inches.
and the only thing you can do is cut the foam padding in the drivers side seat in half. i saw one person on the forums do this.

hmm i sit fine in the 8 but when im at a trackday with a helmet on that when i have to slouch to the right. I have the adjustable seats in my 8 i have the bottom cusion in the back all the way down to sit lower and the front part of the bottom raised a little to bring my legs up. It kind of creates a bucket for my *** and allows me to sit lower to the ground.

Again, according to the specs, the sunroof only eats up 1.5 inches, which is more than I thought but would still afford the s2000 with about 2 inches less headroom. Which still doesn't explain the increase in room, instead of decrease. Like I said in previous post, unless the sunroof eats up 5 inches, then it doesn't add up.
