An ideal Reps Car? plus Jag's new concept car

Believe this or not. Here in the UK in our local paper and syndicated throughout, is a report on the eagerly anticipated RX-8 and how it is set to take the company car market by storm. Key fleet decision makers have driven and seen the car and because of the tax laws relating to cars for company use are hailing the RX-8 as tax effective for company car drivers and cost effective for fleet operators.

Quote, "Fleet chiefs predict that the 1,600 models destined for the UK in the last quarter of this year, (First cars predicted to arrive October and the earliest I can get a test drive) and the 6,000 due for the showrooms in 2004 will be insufficient to meet demand. Already 75% of this years supply have been pre-ordered."

Remember this is sight unseen and few if any prospective drivers have ver seen the car, let alone driven it. Although I do know someone who has, but then he is a dealer and his opinion may be slightly biased.

Also in the national press today is a report on Jaguars new concept car and designed in just six months. Unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show this week it is destined to be driven by a 2.7 litre deisel and compared in looks to the Lotus Elise, with a 0-62mph of less than 6.0 seconds. Also named the R-D6.

Where did they get their inspiration from in just six months???????? and if it does indeed looks like a Lotus Elise then I must have missed the launch of the Lotus and I have yet to see one like it on the road.

NOt only the Jag but consider also the VW concept car. Look how the front resembles the 8. See the fender line and the front air ducts?

diesel RX8?

Well the new Jag looks just like a RX8 with a new top on! Come on, what are Ford up too? they have their fingers in both companies design teams. Take a close look at the layout, the doors! The new hatch, if you've seen the Uk article, the conspiracy theories will grow. But an RX that does 50mpg (UK gallons!) nice one Jag but will it ever be born?

Took my first test drive in an 8 yesterday. Impressed, can't wait till its dropped off in mid November! Mid life crisis Red 6MT plain black leather, no sat nav, can't you guys read a map or don't you know where you're going? Hey I can't really afford it but who cares!
