If Mazda makes a 4th Gen RX-7 will you buy it?
If Mazda does go forward with a 4th generation RX-7 will you buy it? It's been speculated that it'll be out in 2006-7 if it goes into production. I know that I'll be aboard the pre-order bandwagon.

Absolutely!,
especally if it looks like the first pictures that were being shown.
(The real sexy, curvacious one that was scanned from 2 pages of a magazine.)I presently own all three generations.

Of course everyone will vote yes. Each of them can dream up their own image of the next 7 and this is what they will vote for. For instance, I would love an aluminum intensive 7 that weighed about 2,200 lbs and came with the Renesis as is. I like the FD styling but much prefer exposed headlamps. Others will dream of 300 hp but would be happy with 2800 lbs of weight and absolutely must have barn door flip up headlamps.

As babylou points out, we don't know what the FE will be like. I also agree that if they kept the power as-is and just dropped the weight below 2400 lbs, I'd ****** one up in no time. That'll be around the time my Miata is paid off, so it may even fit in under the budget.

Even if it had the same power, same tranny, was a little shorter, laid out somewhat like the FC two seater, and just a little lighter, I would probably go for the RX7 instead. I would hope for the Mazdaspeed engine, and the sequential tranny that they are at least working on. But even if it's only a slightly smaller/lighter version of the RX8 I would get it.
Now, if they go as far as to turn the RX7 into a $45k-$50k Vette/NSX fighter, then I would have to reconsider. Not that I wouldn't like such a car, but for me at this time, I would prefer a simpler, more basic sports car.
