so, those are factors that would play into me determining what kind of car i could afford at prices that i would likely be seeing.
the same figures and calculations and what not might not necessarily apply to you or any one else though.
and no, i'm not putting down the scoobies, they just aren't the car for me. i haven't really cared for them since they redesigned them in 1999/2000. a good friend of mine got one of the first wrx in atlanta and i helped him brake it in (since he was just learning to drive stick at the time and i already knew), and i went with him and a bunch of other scoobies to the tail of the dragon. so i've had the seat time in one. and i'm sure there have been some changes since then. its a nice car. its fast, and once those horrid potenzas were replaced, it handles well. i just wouldnt' choose it for an alternate car for me.

If I had twice the money to spend, my first test drive would be the Lexus SC. It's a convertible. It's a hardtop. It's a convertible hardtop. What other model has that these days?
And 300hp V8 doesn't hurt.

this is kinda funny i said Affordable Insurnace for the wrx.. i never said the insurance on the rx8 isnt affordable. I pay 230/month for my Civic Coupe and Rx8. Ironically i pay for the civic since its listed as my work car and the RX8 is just a weekend car.
Back on topic the only reason i really would take the WRX over the RX8 is the AWD, that would make the car great for our winters here in NY, especially queens where if you parralel park getin outta the snow is awful.
